BLAST Premier Spring Showdown schedule set

The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown schedule has been set for the two online tournaments in Europe and North America, which will run during the first week of June.

The $325,000 BLAST Premier Spring Showdown was supposed to take place on LAN during the first week of June, but due to the coronavirus pandemic was split into two tournaments to be played online: one in Europe, with ten teams and $182,500 in prizes; and one in North America, with eight teams and $142,500 on the line.

The events, which will run on June 1-7, will feature two-group round-robin stages with five teams per group in Europe and four teams per group in North America. All of the round-robin matches will be best-of-one, and only one team per group will be eliminated ahead of the best-of-three single-elimination playoffs.

Since the top three teams from each region move on to their respective BLAST Premier Spring Finals, the playoff brackets will not include a grand final, but will have a 3/4th place decider match instead.

Vitality have another shot at making the BLAST Premier Spring Finals

Astralis, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Vitality, who were unable to earn a spot for the Spring finals earlier in the year at the BLAST Premier Spring Series in London, will now have another chance. To do so, they will have to best the invited teams; fnatic, MOUZ and MAD Lions, as well as the teams hailing from qualifiers; ENCE, Dignitas, SAW and the CIS Cup champions, who will be known when the event ends on May 30.

MIBR, Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves are the Americas region teams that didn't make it to the finals during BLAST Premier Spring Series and will now have a second shot in the Showdown, where they will go up against Cloud9, Gen.G, FURIA, Chaos and Triumph.

Hmm... I don't know man... If they were playing in the NA group, maybe, but in the EU with top teams i doubt. This will only happen if the "magic of online matches" helps, where fnatic and mousesports lose even to me+4

issue for DIG is that they aren't good at BO1s. If it was BO3 than I would bet my house they wouldn't get eliminated before playoffs. I do still think they'll make it through but it might be a bit harder

I think they will still make it through. But I won't be surprised if they don't. They sometimes play really well, but sometimes they play really bad to.

They do, but I still think they will be better than someone here, most likely they will be better than mousesports and maybe VP if they qualify.

Assuming that VP wins the CIS qualifier, I'd say the team with a pretty much 100% chance of getting in is Fnatic, and the team that will probably be eliminated will be Mouz. MAD Lions, VP, and DIG will probably be in

You are right bro, they can't be counted out to fast, they are inconsistent, sometime they play like trash, but there are matches when they play ok, sometimes even good. I think they just lack someone that could setup those players such as Jame, YEKINDAR to be a real starplayers. If they get that kind of player, they can be a really good team.

In this group I think only Fnatic is a guarantee on getting through. I've seen MAD Lions do some retarded shit before so I dont trust them and DIG is too inconsistent.

I will just make quck review of this group. fnatic - Not at their best, I think they just lack solid structure and that's what hold's them from being a world contender. mousesports - Very bad atm., they lack someone who could set up those stars like frozen or ropz, they also lack well done structure, I think the leadership of karrigan is very overrated MAD Lions - Solid team, but with this roster they won't be higher than this TOP 10-15 level, just not enough good players. Dignitas - Playing very poorly atm., they lack someone who could setup f0rest and hallzerk to unleash their full potential, and they also just lack firepower. And most likely Virtus.Pro - Another team that lacks a player that could setup a players such as Jame or YEKINDAR to unleash their full potential. So overall, a teams that 90% goes through for me are : fnatic MAD Lions Virtus.Pro I think the fight is between mousesports and Dignitas, because they are on the same level rn. for me. It will be hard for Dignitas, let's be honest.

I dont think on the same level. I'd say more between VP and Mouz for the elimination. I dont see Fnatic being eliminated and MAD can't choke that hard. DIG, although inconsistent, have a solid structure in the team (at least on some maps), Mouz CAN be a top team, they have huge talent and a veteran IGL, just lately they haven't been using those benefits to their potential. VP reminds me of a ball of talent with 0 structure. So I feel like VP will get clapped by DIG, MAD, and Fnatic, teams with lots of structure. But ya, everything is "hard" for Dignitas. I've learned to never bet against or for them. example is their T side on Train against Heroic.... that wasn't even fun to watch. DIG shit all over them. Then you have the first game against Fnatic on Overpass. That also sucked to watch, DIG just got fucked. So with DIG you never know, I dont think they'll drop out of groups but it is a BO1. Also I just remembered that VP hasn't even qualified yet so we dont even know if they gonna be the team haha

If VP are going through I just don't think they will be eilminated. And Dignitas actually for me is the most likely to get elimination. I just think that this Dig lacks firepower, and also some really good support.

Keep in mind that the DIG rosters lack of firepower still outgunned teams like North, GODSENT, and most importantly, Heroic.

North are very bad atm. GODSENT inconsistent. Heroic the only good team from here. I mean in all of this matches they weren't the favourites, against Heroic I didn't see them winning, it was a huge upset. Against GODSENT althrought they are inconsistent it's still an upset. And North they weren't the favourites, but it was 50/50 for me. Overall at DH the teams are better, I don't think it's the same caliber, I can see them making it out of group but they won't go to deep into this tournament for sure.
