djL joins c0ntact's coaching staff

Former Red Reserve and Japaleno player Daniel "⁠djL⁠" Narancic has been added to c0ntact's backroom team, head coach Neil "⁠NeiL_M⁠" Murphy has confirmed.

The 26-year-old, who recently left Japaleno, has been working in tandem with NeiL_M for almost a month now, trying to help the team to overcome a rough patch of form.

A poor win-rate of just 19 per cent across all competitions in the last three months has seen c0ntact slip to 42nd in the world rankings. They were unable to make the playoffs in Flashpoint 1 and lost all seven matches played in ESL One: Road to Rio.

djL is coaching the team together with NeiL_M

djL has previous coaching experience, having guided Red Reserve and GamerLegion for brief spells between 2017 and 2020. He returned to a player role at the start of this year, helping Japaleno to qualify for the ESEA MDL Global Challenge after the team finished the European league in third place.

"After a rough few months, we felt we could try an outside point of view on how our game could develop," NeiL_M told HLTV.org. "That is why we suggested we could try djL out and he has been a great fit for us.

"Together, Daniel and I will try to help the team as best as possible to stabilize."

on hltv twitch talking same, contact should replace emi and letni with alex as igl and 1 more player. Contact play a lot online and its should be perfcet for alex.

The podcast is called Hltv Confirmed. I don't think any good player would like to join this team, because everyone in the scene knows, that espiranto is toxic AF. He is young kid, who has really great potential, but placing your ego in front of the team until the team disbands is retarted. And second Noone would like to join this team, bcs it's a horror, they have no inivatations bcs they are loosing so much. The only thing that they currently are playing is this fucking 40k prize pool home event. There is only 1 way to help this team, and that is to sell the players and disband the team.

actually this is really true. This team do not have any future. And espiranto only 19yo and really good player can be in t1 team but because his ego stuck in this shit until this team gonna be disband.

He was playing weak for a long time, he will be better as a Coach I think. However it doesn't change the fact that c0ntact lacks firepower, aswell as just a real starplayer. There is literally not a single amazing player, who could sometimes carry his team.

Have you even watched the games? Otto dropped 30 bomb against syman, but they lost bcs of stupid decisions. SHiPz is a beast and carried them to DREAMHACK OPEN last autumn. They are not loosing bcs of firepower. Look at faze, they have only firepower, but still struggle against tier 2 teams.

What are you talking about? Rain, niko, broky and coldzera are all gonna be good firepower for any team they join, and tbh Bymas seems better at controlling the weapons than 95% of the current pro playerbase. Faze obviously lack real strats. They litterally look like a pog team, just doing whatever niko feels like, which is really bad, since they often make rushed decisions and overall seem to fuck up more than other tier1 teams.

NiKo is a TOP 10 PLayer while IGLing. rain is indeed very good. coldzera is fucking insane. broky solid, not flashy or not something special but solid. But still without good leadership they are inconsistent, and they look like they lack good players. And Bymas is inconsistent, sometimes he looks great, and sometimes like shit.

he's on a trial, so he's just a temporary solution and for a temporary solution he's had some great moments, but hes not ready yet, kinda like Misutaa on Vitality, sadly Brollan, Sergej and Plopski gave everyone the idea that super young players will be ready for tier 1 instantly when most of the time they arent

So do they lack firepower or structure? You keep talking against your own points. And ofc bymas and broky are gonna be a bit shaky for now, but that's how it is, when you go from tier3/4 to tier1/2. Give them some time and they will be fine, but if niko doesn't get better at being an IGL they will never be good as a team.

I don't think they will be good with this roster, they lack structure, and with the structure they currently hold, which basically is based on personal performance, they don't have enough firepower to play like this. That's what I mean, if you know what I mean.

I guess it makes sense, but I just don't think you should label it as "lacking firepower". It's just bad management of their players on the server, but we seem to agree anyways, so no reason to discuss further. Have a nice day :)
