TIGER make U-turn on lineup plans

TIGER have backtracked on their plans to add Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer and Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield to their roster following the team's recent success, HLTV.org has learned.

Bold "⁠ncl⁠" Batsukh and Yesuntumur "⁠nin9⁠" Gantulga had looked to be on their way out of the Mongolian team after TIGER had launched procedures with a view to signing the European duo.

The double change seemed all but done, with Snappi having even been bought out of his contract with HEROIC, according to a tweet from the Danish organisation's CEO, Erik Askered.

However, HLTV.org has learned that TIGER's run of success in recent weeks has seen the team gain renewed faith from the management, who will keep the lineup unchanged for the time being.TIGER are currently leading the Asian RMR Rankings after beating TYLOO to the region's ESL One: Road to Rio title. Erdenetsogt "⁠erkaSt⁠" Gantulga's side followed up on that success by winning the Weibo Cup Asian Championship, in which they defeated ViCi, BTRG and Invictus.

With Snappi and smooya already under contracts, it is likely that TIGER will entertain offers for the European pair.

Snappi, who joined Astralis on a short-term deal on Thursday, wrote on Twitter that he hopes to reveal more details about his next team "soon enough". HLTV.org knows that the Danish tactician has already held exploratory talks with a number of European teams.

It remains to be seen what the future will hold for smooya, who had joined TIGER on a free transfer. The British AWPer is looking to get his career back on track after leaving Chaos less than three months into his deal due to being unable to obtain a P-1 visa because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sad for smooya and Snappi! Hopefully they can both land on their feet. I was really hoping for this to be a win-win for both TIGER and the players, but maybe things will work out regardless.

It's also a huge risk making a roster international all of the sudden, and shaking up the roster like that. There were also talks that they would have transitioned to the EU region instead of Asia, which they might not want. I agree with you, it would have been a good move, but it's risky none the less.

He was already at the end of his carreer. Going to asia for the $$$. I can understand the reason behind it. When all of a sudden bigpants astralis swings by to say: "ay, we wanna u with us for sum time. down?". Asia team recently aquired snappi, but they be like: "Myea, whatever. We'll just 'ave a nap with our domesticated cats". At this point I'm only looking forward to see, whatever is going on in Astralis. I wanna see them fail hard, but at the same time I also wanna see them reach new highs. I wanna see a more brawl-style gameplan with jugi and esetag. snappi has played on a high level for ages. It's time for him to redeem himself - or let the star burn out.

ALEX, Lekr0, Snappi. Several good options for c0ntact, although arguably ALEX is the only one who would consider it a good move. Both Snappi and Lekr0 can probably get a spot in a better team if they are patient.
