fnatic eliminate Complexity from DreamHack Masters Spring - Europe

fnatic stay alive and move on in the DreamHack Masters Spring - Europe lower bracket after defeating Complexity 2-1.

Group C’s third-place finisher, fnatic, and Group B’s runner-up, Complexity, faced off in the first round of the DreamHack Masters Spring - Europe lower bracket with their tournament lives on the line. Both teams won their map picks in a hard-fought series, but fnatic were unwavering on the decider, Mirage, to win the series and move on to the second round of the playoff's lower bracket.

Maikil "Golden" Selim with a triple and Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson with a double in the first pistol round made it 1-0 as fnatic were quick to dominate on the attacking side of Train, their map pick, going up 6-0 before Complexity called their first time out. After the pause the European-American squad managed to tally their first two rounds, and although they didn’t manage to take charge on the CT-side they did bridge the gap to 5-10.

Complexity won a vital pistol round to kick off the second half, but a double entry with the CZ75 by Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin turned the tides as fnatic won the forcebuy, increasing their lead to 12-6 before Complexity took the first gun round with a triple by Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke. Slowly but surely Complexity started to mount a comeback, reaching within one of the Swedes, 11-12, but were harshly denied as fnatic closed their map out 16-11.

fnatic will play MAD Lions or Spirit in the next lower bracket round

Complexity were able to win a 2vs3 afterplant on the A site of Nuke to kick off map two. They were then able to follow up against fnatic’s forcebuy and eco, but the Swedes brought it back to a stalemate in round six. Doubles by William "RUSH" Wierzba and Owen "oBo" Schlatter put Complexity back in the lead, 5-4, after which they started to run away with the half, 9-6.

oBo and k0nfig gave Complexity another crucial pistol round win, but they once again lost to the following forcebuy. A triple by RUSH in the third gun round kept his team in the lead, but the Swedes struck right back to keep it close at 10-11. All tied it up, oBo and RUSH were able to regain the lead for their team with multi-kills on A site and ramp.

A three-kill round by Valentin "poizon" Vasilev to follow it up inched Complexity closer to map point, which they reached after winning an eco round. fnatic didn’t let up, tying it up to take it to overtime, but were unable to turn it around as the match moved to the decider map.

Complexity take 45 EPT points from DreamHack Masters Spring

fnatic got off to a 3-0 lead on the defending side of Mirage, but RUSH and k0nfig were able to turn around a 2vs3 to get their team on the board in the fourth. After tying it up, Complexity started to falter, going down 3-6 as the Swedish squad charged on to a comfortable 10-5 lead at the half.

fnatic continued their rampage on the attack, wininng the pistol round and increasing their lead to 13-5 after a premature buy from Complexity. There wasn't much Benjamin "blameF" Bremer's men could do from there on out, as fnatic only gave one round up in the second half before closing it out, 16-6, to stay alive in the DreamHack Masters Spring lower bracket.

fnatic has huge potential. Complexity lacks a bit of teamplay but with time I think they are going to be fine.

They had 5 months already to work with themselves. It's weird that they didn't fixed the mistakes that they are making since begging, and that their map pool seem to stay in one place. Maybe try to change a coach or player?

i think it's hard to building from scratch so they need even more time. kassad is the best possible option for them tho

I know it's hard, but still I don't see their map pool being better than it was 2 months ago for example. kassad good option, yes.

Honestly though Obo at 16 looking like 12 I think is going to be really really good one day. BlameF also has like a huge prime right in front of him. ggwp to both sides really. Fnatic should beat Col and Col made it interesting.
