WePlay! Clutch Island Closed Qualifier groups revealed

WePlay! has announced the groups for the first stage of the closed qualifier for the upcoming CIS Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament, called Clutch Island.

The eight competing sides — five invited and three determined by open qualifiers — have been split into two double-elimination groups in the first stage of the closed qualifier, which will run from June 16-18.

The top two teams from both groups will earn spots in a second double-elimination group, from which three sides will advance to the main tournament, joining the five best-ranked teams in the RMR leaderboard: Hard Legion, Winstrike, Virtus.pro, Spirit and Natus Vincere.

WePlay! Clutch Island is slated to take place from June 23-28, with the winner earning $15,000 and 2000 RMR points. Hard Legion are currently leading the RMR rankings in the CIS region, with 1640 points, 40 more than their closest suitor, Spirit, who won ESL One: Road to Rio last month.
