Complexity beat OG to join NAVI in BLAST Premier upper semis

A first-ever meeting between Complexity and OG saw the former team come out victorious from a three-map battle to join Natus Vincere in the upper bracket semi-finals of BLAST Premier Spring Finals.

Late last year the two teams were still in their infancy as they were locked in a battle for talent, with many of the players in consideration for both projects when Complexity looked into a complete overhaul while OG were putting together a brand new lineup under the Dota giant.

Having enjoyed moments of brilliance but also suffered through periods of mixed results, the two new international teams found themselves locking horns for the very first time a little over half a year into their existence, with nothing but one place in the rankings separating them.

Despite that, Complexity were the overwhelming favorites according to the pundits as the team with vastly more exposure as of late. It turned out that the on-air talent had been right to place their faith in the Benjamin "blameF" Bremer-led side, but OG didn't go down without a fight, trading map picks to take the game to the deciding Nuke, where Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men made Complexity sweat for the win in spite of a lopsided start.

Col toppled OG in the first meeting between the two new teams

Complexity got off on the right foot on their opponents' pick, Train, as they put together a solid defense on the B bombsite and Owen "oBo" Schlatter complemented it with a 1v2 clutch in a dangerous anti-forcebuy. It wasn't until the seventh round that OG got on the board on the back of a triple from Issa "ISSAA" Murad on the outer bombsite and Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså's double entry into B.

Shortly after, OG destroyed Complexity's economy when a few rounds went back and forth, and the Aleksib-led squad clawed back to a 6-9 half. The effort was fruitless, however, with blameF's team turning around a 3v5 in a second-round forcebuy, seizing control of the rest of the map as they cruised to a 16-7 win on the opener.

Mirage followed with the roles reversed as Complexity won the pistol off a spectacular quad-kill from oBo but conceded the second round to Deagles, allowing OG to rack up an early lead on the defense. Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt & company kept the pressure up as the half progressed, not letting their adversaries win consecutive rounds as they rallied to a dominant 11-4 scoreline.

The comeback was on when Complexity found early success in the second half, with OG unable to find gaps in the defense until just one round separated the two teams. But then a couple of openings on A finally broke through, and Aleksib's side went on to capitalize on two more A splits to force the decider.

It looked like the series would come to an abrupt end when Complexity began to dominate on the offense of Nuke with nine consecutive rounds, in part thanks to two 2v5 turnarounds starring blameF and Valentin "poizon" Vasilev. However, with a bit of luck on their side, courtesy of a fumbled bomb plant from the Bulgarian AWPer, OG managed to salvage the odds with five rounds to their name at halftime. After conceding the second pistol, the underdogs went on to close the gap further, but the North America-based squad scraped by with the three rounds necessary to close the series at 16-12, 2-1.

I doubt it very much. They just dont feel to tension with this corona-online-bullshit and wanted a break. Xyp wouldn’t leave dev1ce and dupreeh. As soon LAN is back Astralis is back👍 Not this missing 40% clown fiesta

Complexity have infinitely more money than Astralis, so he won't be getting transferred for a long long time. BlameF also doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would want to take a 30% salary reduction.

yes he ought to be but still Issa isnt enough firepower that OG needs, from the dawn of this roster everyone complained about it lacking another fiery rifler who would work with Issa.

havent played single lan yet and you are already trying to fix team by removing one of the best support players on cs. online cs is shit indicator in anything, if it was up to you, you would have changed virtus pro roster before the 2017 major they won because they were absolute trash online.

one of the best support player has turned to a washed up bot now , reason why he got kicked. And even before OG played any game, the roster was criticized for one sole reason and that was firepower, which can be seen in their matches too. The scene is most probably gonna stay online for some time , obviously one would be making judgements and assumptions based on what they see. Everything should just go right off and fuck themselves if Online CS is shit indicator in anything , all the rankings and tournaments etc all should be scraped then.

that was not the reason why nbk was kicked from vitality, they already had igl in alex and support in rpk and they were targeting shox. of course they dont scab everything, its entertainment, money is involved, doesnt make online cs any less irrelevant, its just when the lans start again its the teams known to perform on lans that take back the throne while onliner teams fall in ranks. not sure what games you have been watching if nbk is washed up bot, does his role, good positioning, he is doing his job and og doesnt need any tweaking before they have shown their card where it really matters.

Giving more thought to the point that they need some actual firepower , you would have to drop someone. AleksiB is IGL, Mantu has probably been their best player, ISSA is already the main rifler , only leaves us with Valde and NBK . Valde imo is a far better player, hence NBK gets the axing.

well i dont think they need more firepower, if they build the team around mantuu and issaa, especially if issaa reaches the form he was when he played with woxic, there is no lack of firepower on the team. there is no bad players on the team right now, if they shit the bed on lan then its time to seek possible solutions.

Vitality without nbk went to shit, shox was so overrated....they wanted a 2nd star to help zywoo, now zywoo still has double the frags of the others lol

They should try and get Sergej. He was the 13th best player in 2019 and needs a new team to save his career because of Ence's inconsistency. Plus Aleksib was his old teammate.

Interesting game, but OG simply doesn't have enough firepower for T1. Some of their 3v2 4v2 and such were painful to watch (aleksib watching A from A main where he can be peeked from 4 different angles in 3v2) and so on.... But they were lucky same can be said for CoL to certain degree. ISSAA was weird pickup since creation and he should really get his shit together or i can imagine he can be gone quite soon. Same goes for NBK, he seems to be another guy from old guns (despite he' s not THAT old) too weak for T1 CS. Others doing fine for their positions, i personally expected a bit more from Valde.

OG needs time to play LAN, to know each other and stuff, they only have together 9 months and the majority ONLINE, any new team can do something in this pandemi situation.

They just look so lackluster tho. They've had one recent dominant map against forZe and that's it. Theyre far too inconsistent and something needs to change, but not until after a few lans

This was not a great game of CS, such a clownfiesta. Tons of stupidly lost rounds, only BlameF deserves praise. OG feel so weak, I don't know what their plans are. Hearing AleksiB and mantuu without any confidence is almost shameful.

The worst thing was hearing Mantuu call the loss 'classic OG'. It sounds like they have a defeatist attitude and are not confident in winning at all. They always look very weak in taking control of the game and need a better mindset.
