Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles has been appointed as the Commissioner of Flashpoint, the league's parent company, B Site, announced on Wednesday.
The veteran broadcaster will act as a liaison between Flashpoint and the fans as part of the league's Board of Governors to help approve formats and tournament rules and enforce player penalties and competitive sanctions.
MonteCristo was part of the broadcast talent of Flashpoint Season 1 and also played a key role in the development of the league's concept alongside Creative Director Duncan "Thorin" Shields. In the Board of Governors, he will be joined by Mike Rufail, CEO of Envy, Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen, Senior Vice President of Finance and Business Development of the Immortals Gaming Club, Adam "friberg" Friberg and Epitacio "TACO" de Melo.

The former Overwatch League caster will combine the role of Flashpoint Commissioner with his new duties as the Vice President of Brand of B Site. He will be responsible for shaping the strategic brand direction as the company prepares to expand to include additional esports titles.
"I am extremely excited to continue constructing the live tournament and content plans for both Flashpoint and B Site," he said in a statement. "We aim to serve enthusiastic, adult fans with content brought to them by the most creative, fun, and expert voices from their favorite games. We are committed to not only providing top-tier tournament experiences, but also to roll out year-round studio shows for all major esports."
B Site has yet to announce the first details about the second edition of Flashpoint. The opening season came to an end in April, with MAD Lions claiming the bulk of the league's $1 million prize pool after beating MIBR in the final. The league was supposed to be held entirely on LAN, with the group matches in Los Angeles and the finals in Stockholm, but the coronavirus pandemic forced B Site to change its plans and move the tournament to an online setting just days into the season.
Countries around the world have eased COVID-19 restrictions and tournament organisers are pondering a return to LAN, so it appears more likely that Flashpoint 2 will take place offline. with details expected to be finalised in the coming weeks.
