NiP sweep OG 2-0 in BLAST Premier Spring Finals

OG has been eliminated from BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Europe Finals after a crushing 2-0 defeat to Ninjas in Pyjamas (16-6 Overpass, 16-6 Mirage).

Ninjas in Pyjamas and OG found themselves in the lower bracket of the event early after defeats to Natus Vincere and Complexity, respectively, with their tournament lives on the line in today's match. In the first meeting between the two teams, Ninjas in Pyjamas secured a resounding victory, controlling the game on the Terrorist side of Overpass and looking dominant for the majority of Mirage to take the win. Ninjas in Pyjamas continue their campaign on Friday, when they will face the loser of Vitality - FaZe.

OG's pistol round win was countered by a cleanly won force by from Ninjas in Pyjamas in the second round, setting up the Swedish team for a 5-2 start on the offensive side of their map pick, Overpass. Mateusz "⁠mantuu⁠" Wilczewski then showed up with a saved AWP in an eco to secure OG their third, but a teamkill blunder in a 3v3 that followed stopped the European squad from building any momentum.

Ninjas in Pyjamas continued their strong run on the offense, finishing the half 11-4 up, before switching to the CT side and winning the pistol by locking down A. The score was 13-4 when mantuu and Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen managed to turn around a 2v4 on B after going into a stacked site, but OG managed just one more round before Ninjas in Pyjamas closed out the map, 16-6.

The Swedes brought the momentum onto Mirage, as Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt's double-entry on the pistol was outdone by Simon "⁠twist⁠" Eliasson's triple. Multikills from Tim "⁠nawwk⁠" Jonasson, twist and Fredrik "⁠REZ⁠" Sterner followed as OG found themselves 5-0 down, and then Hampus "⁠hampus⁠" Poser chimed in with an A hold, seeing the score difference reach seven. AWP entries helped Aleksib's team to finally stop the bleeding, grabbing a lifeline before the half by securing five rounds as T.

Any thoughts of a comeback were blown away as Ninjas in Pyjamas ran over OG as they switched to the T side, claiming the first four rounds on the offense. Aleksib's AWP triple gave OG one on the CT side, but two A crunches in a row worked out perfectly for Ninjas in Pyjamas, concluding Mirage 16-6 and the series 2-0.

80 ping is playable for sure, especially if you always have it.

The problem is the ping differential and that these are pro players: In average under focus situations human brain synapsis + muscle movement reaction takes ~100ms, if he is playing with 80ms and his enemies are playing with 10ms it means he has an additional overhead of ~70ms to his reaction time, almost twice so he is in a huge disadvantage. Anecdotically, in my case as Venezuela i play all the time against american and they have anything between 10-25ms and i almost always play with 110-120ms and i get destroyed, but every once in a while Valve puts me in a Peruvian server, where all the latinos are playing with an avg. of 40-45ms (way less pign differential/reaction time overhead) and i jsut crush it when that happens,. TL;DR : yes, 80ms is playable, but only if your adversaries doesnt have so low latency due to the difference.

Sure but you seem to think CS is about reflexes when it's just a very tiny and at most times irrelevant part of the game, having your crosshair in the right place, prefiring > some ms. Sure there are frags determined by reflexes where ping could be a factor but the vast majority of them? Absolutley not. You are either not that experienced or fail to realize that that the players on the American servers are better per average, not that I know anything about that since Im EU.

Are you mental? ALL of the frags minus pre-firing are reflex based, you know that when you jsut "wait" for somebody to get into your crosshair you use your reflexes to: 1- process the image of the enemy head into the xhair 2- check is not an enemy 3- sending the signal to your index finger nerves and muscle to actually "click" ALL of that is reflex based, and with ping differential the player gets a even higher disadvantage

If you play without sound maybe, also 100ms under focus reaction time is borderline cyborg so you would be fine anyway.

Also, you seem to completelly underestimate what i told you, the Avg reaction time under focus is 100ms, if you double that (200ms) you are WAY in disadvantage, consider the following: reflexes decays a lot less than 70ms due to age, yet we all see how statiscally CSGO players gets shit on by "youngsters" after they hit 29.

Seriously, not an OG Fan, but this was a bad timing for OG : Announce team, Win some, lose some, show positive results, then few tournaments and online, where they seem to play badly. I have no idea what is wrong with OG right now, for me the problem is not from a player, but comms must be shit, and online isn't helping.. RIP OG, hope they will give them another chance after the return of LAN

I would say the Problem with OG is there complete lack of confidence and terrible mentality. This leads to almost all other problems including teamplay and ability to frag. They need to actually have the confidence to win and take map control. Strats aren't being trusted and everyone is dying without getting traded. They are having a losing mentality and need to break out of it. Mantuu called loss classic OG, which shows how bad it is.

OG looked so uninspired the entire series. ISSAA is really lacking in firepower for a "star player." NBK is clearly tilting really hard, slamming his desk all the time and it's clear that the team dynamic isn't really working out and the players are losing faith in AleksiB's calling. Only Valde and Mantuu seem to be playing at a T1 level.

I watched overpass, but I'm sure that him playing for himself wasn't because he wanted to, but rather aleksib telling him to. You could see at times the rest of the team is waiting behind him to get the trade.
