mousesports and FATE eliminated from cs_summit 6 Europe
MOUZ and FATE are out of the running in cs_summit 6 Europe after losing 0-2 series against fnatic and Movistar Riders, respectively, ending in 13-16th place.
MOUZ were eliminated from cs_summit 6 Europe in a disappointing 13-16th place after losing to fnatic in the Group A elimination match. The European combine, who have been struggling since CS moved online due to the coronavirus pandemic, will only earn 312.5 points from the ongoing RMR tournament, less than the 350 they gained after their 13-14th place at ESL One: Road to Rio. This means they now hold a total of 962.5 points when added to the 300 they carry from the StarLadder Berlin Major.
In Group B it was FATE who went out in last place after a clash against Movistar Riders in which the Spaniards came out ahead with victories on Inferno (16-9) and Mirage (16-6). Lucas "steel" Lopes and company will now go on to fight for a playoff spot in the group's decider match against the loser of Vitality vs. North.
fnatic took the lead on Inferno, winning the T-side pistol round and doubling up the following round. They were unable to make it a treble, however, as MOUZ won a pistol buy to get on the board. The European mixture then took the lead early on, winning five rounds in a row before fnatic could find their way into the A site and win an afterplant situation, tying it back up 6-6 before MOUZ closed the half out ahead 9-6.
Özgür "woxic" Eker won a 1vs3 afterplant on B in the second pistol round to keep his team well in the lead, as they went up 12-6. fnatic threatened a comeback with three rounds in a row, but MOUZ closed in on match point, 14-9. They started to lose steam, however, as the Swedish team brought it back to 14-14 which Robin "flusha" Rönnquist followed up winning a 1vs1 on A to hit match point. fnatic then won a clean round with a triple by Jesper "JW" Wecksell to close out the map and take the lead in the series.

fnatic started out 3-0 on the CT side of Nuke after the first gun round, further extending their lead to 5-0 after the second full buy from MOUZ. It wasn’t until the eighth round that Finn "karrigan" Andersen and company were able to find an opening, but they kept struggling throughout the half, only able to tally two more rounds before switching sides. A quick A play from fnatic which they were able to win cleanly in the second pistol round all but sealed MOUZ’ fate as the Swedes lost only one round on their way to a 16-4 victory.

Three kills by Rajohn "EasTor" Linato and two by steel put Movistar Riders ahead on the attacking side of Inferno, but doubles by Nikolay "niki1" Pantaleev and Deyvid "h4rn" Benchev gave FATE the second round. Back-and-forth rounds ended with the Spanish squad ahead as they were able to break the CT side’s economy. Down 2-5 niki1 was able to win a 1vs2 retake to get his team back on track as they regained the lead, 6-5, but were unable to maintain it as they trailed 6-9 at the half. Riders extended their lead by winning the second pistol round, taking charge on the CT side to win the first map amply, 16-9.

Movistar Riders got off to a flying start on the CT side of Mirage, neutralizing FATE on their map pick early on to an 8-0 lead. It was finally on a B play that the Bulgarians found themselves in an advantageous 2vs1 afterplant situation on B to tally a round. Down 1-10 FATE were able to win another round, this time on the A site, following it up one last time before the end of the half, which they ended trailing 3-12.
Ivan "Patrick" Ivanov and Yanko "blocker" Panov defended an aggressive afterplant push by Movistar Riders in the second pistol round to keep their team alive, but the Spanish squad then took the reins back with rifles in hand, winning the half out with four rounds in a row to make the final score 16-6.
