TYLOO top PAL Summer group stage; playoff bracket determined

YuLun "⁠Summer⁠" Cai's squad finished the round-robin group stage of the Asian Regional Major Ranking event with eight wins and one loss, taking the first place going into the playoffs ahead of rivals ViCi and Invictus.

TYLOO returned to a fully-Chinese lineup back in April when Seon-Ho "⁠xeta⁠" Son and WingHei "⁠Freeman⁠" Cheung departed the team due to coronavirus concerns, and have made steps to once again cement the title of the best team in Asia since adding Kelun "⁠SLOWLY⁠" Sun and Zhenghao "⁠DANK1NG⁠" Lv. The Mongolian side TIGER upset them in the grand final of ESL One: Road to Rio - Asia, the first RMR event back in May, but since then, TYLOO has been dominant, winning DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 - Asia and the ESL Pro League S12 Asia Qualifier.

TYLOO have been looking strong since the latest changes

Going into Perfect World Asia League Summer 2020, TYLOO had a five series win-streak over domestic rivals ViCi, and extended that with another convincing win in the group stage, adding onto it a victory over Erdenetsogt "⁠erkaSt⁠" Gantulga's TIGER as well. The only team that mustered a win over TYLOO was Invictus, who together with the aforementioned ViCi and TIGER form the top 4 of the eight teams heading into playoffs.

The remainder of the playoff teams include Thai squads Lucid Dream and Beyond, as well as Love "⁠havoK⁠" Paras's Divine Vendetta and the third-highest-ranked Mongolian side D13. Out of competition are Bren and Mazaalai, with the latter mustering just one win, with the pre-playoffs exit leaving them without a single RMR point added to their tally.

Yeah personally i liked this system. Creates more chances for upsets and is more exciting cause we probably know who the top 4 teams are gonna be its exciting to find out who the bottom four will be

yeah that's so stupid, imagine a system where 45 bo3's are played to eliminate 2 teams and now there is a single elimination playoff bracket with an overall number of bo3's of 7 haha like who designed that? they had time for 45 bo3's but now the fate of these teams rely on 1 bo3

Divine vendetta deserved to be higher imo winning one map against vici and the rest of them were 14-16 and 19-16 losses. 3 maps against invictus 3 maps against beyond. Beating tiger 2-0 they deserved to be higher than d13 i guess 6th. Sad to see them choke the important matches but they're still miles better than lucid dream , bren and mazaalai. Probably on the same level or better than d13 rn

DV although being at bottom had close 3 mapper series against beyond invictus and ViCi a map win a 16-14 loss and and OT. Not expecting them to win against tyloo but this middle eastern team has certainly impressed a lot

Yeah ik it was a good run I guess xd. If we had won against bren we would have faced invictus or vici so imo no chance for DV against chinese teams rn. They've qualified for the fall event by getting into the playoff hope they can get ready and cause some upsets by then

Yeah DV could have been top 4 easily. They choked the important games but all of them went pretty close . On a good day where they won't choke i expect the match to be a relatively close 3 mapper
