ECO.COBRA player Pedro "aSpx" Slatovisk has been suspended from all WCG qualifiers for six years after being found guilty of cheating.

For the past day, there had been an intense discussion over whether Pedro "aSpx" Slatovisk had cheated at the WCG qualifier after videos containing controversial plays at the tournament were uploaded onto YouTube.

The Brazilian WCG organizer, Alessandro "apoka" Marcucci, announced this afternoon that he has decided to hand the player a hard punishment for cheating at the qualifier, held at the o2 LAN House in São Paulo last weekend.

According to Marcucci, Slatovisk used a cheat that consists of a small white dot that follows the enemies, which can be turned on and off with a simple mouse bind. You can find what this cheat exactly does below.

The WCG organizer stated that the decision was made upon speaking with several Brazilian top players, all of whom came to the conclusion that Slatovisk had indeed cheated.

"The player "aSpx" has been suspended from all competitions I will organize for a minimum period of six years, with the sentence due to be reviewed after three years, and from all big qualifiers, events like g3x-cup, Brazil Cup and Allstar Games are also included," Marcucci told TeamPlay.com.br.
"As for ECO.COBRA I have decided to apply a minimum sentence to the team, they are suspended for one year, with the review in six-months' time."

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that inSanity will take ECO.COBRA's place, this way finishing the competition in fifth place.

Prize money is going down as well as count of big tournaments, also the game is quite old (at least 5 years older if you want) and we haven´t so many young talented players like before, so the community goes down. Look on the avarge age of pro players, almost everybody is older than 22 years, there are no new faces.. Of course it will not be matter of one day, it will be slow proces, but still Counter-Strike will goes down and I predict it will be surely till 5 years.. That´s just my opinion, no offence :)

yeah...there are sooo many players that are 14-15 years old and they are already great players :/ ... they just don't have the age to participate in major tournaments..most of the pro players are getting old yeah..but they will survive like..5-6 years..and then those 14-15 players will be 18-19...and cs will go on =)

Yea it would be sad. A big "problem" ( As 1.6 players would call it :D ), is that when kids run to the store for a new game, they check the graphics at the back of the game, and chooses sources. I think that is sad.

yeah, that´s definately the problem.. but venality and attractiveness goes hand in hand with openness of community, for example in czech republic, you can be quite good player, but without any "connections" it´s highly unlike, that you can find good clan.. so the community becomes smaller and more closed.. and just for pubing? pheh, there are thousands of better games for running around on publics.. Counter-Strike has enourmous magic in competition, but it becomes day by day harder to get in :)

look it´s all about sponsors (which are mostly hardware-making companies), putting money to the old game is a little bit useless for them even without economical crisis, of course there is chance, that they will be back after recession, the question is, if the community will stay so big to these days (due the lack of sponsorship)And that´s it, if community goes down, sponsors are leaving even without economical crisis.. I mean progamers community, game as a whole don´t have to die at all

Well, I do not know much about the personal gains (especially with the huge gap between Mibr/Firegamers and the rest of Brazilian teams) but even if you have proven yourself some may still think that if other pro players have cheated why can't you, me or even this guy cheat at some point? In the end it has come to a point that you have to prove your innocence instead of the accusers proving your guilt without doubt. Did you see the TaZ cheating topic? It is not only hacking but also ghost talking etc. the match admin has to be aware of. He chose to sit down, fine, but at least he should assure that the job can be done that way (f.e. viewable screens).

offtopic: to the people saying cs will end in some 5 years, I do not agree, because the game itself as it is today, is pretty old already, and it should already be dead in theory. My personal experiences have taught me to really give a damn on "expert viewers". If this guy cheated the organization missed a big chance to check for sure at the LAN. And, moreover, I do not understand how they have not check his computer afterwards for the cheat files. Does the organization not know that there are recovery tools even if this guy deleted the cheats he used? If were are talking about a six-year ban I would expect by far more than "expert" players watching the demo, even with cheats on. I do not understand Portuguese but do his explanations sound too weird and are denied by his teammates, especially when dealing with the warnings? As I told Martin, reading this I remembered the thread of 'TaZ hacking'. Some users state that he does and some other he does not. What would the former say if TaZ or even the admin that watched him during that match post that there were no cheats at all? Sure that some would say that those users might not be comparable to "pro players" but as far as I know the latter are not infallible either. The unanimity adds infallibility to this decision? I have myself been banned from servers by the mayority or unanimity of players, admins etc. and without using any cheats. Thus, as said and say again I give a real damn on this kind of procedure. In the end, as said, check the damn comp and everyone will know for sure. And if you can not, well, it is a pity but do a better job next time.

WCG organisation in Brasil was bad , i think.How the hell he could play matches with cheat in lan with many spectators... ? Admins ? Blind :( ? In my oppinion , proove that he is cheater 100% , and ban him permanently , but if it's not 100% sure , leave him alone.

Lol Jon, "Nemas Problemas" isn't a different language at all, it isn't even part of any language. It's just a common expression here in the North and in some other countries aswell for example Germany, and it basically means No problems. I thought a well educated person like you would know that. ;)
