MYM receives three penalty points

MYM have been given three penalty points after the protest filed by Ledpc, the results still stands.

As we reported on Sunday night, Ledpc filed a protest in the match against MYM. MYM had been using +duck on mousewheel, missing Aequitas file and no steam ID on the ringer of the match, Sam "kvicken" Alvandpour. The protest has now been closed and Head-Admin of the Extreme Masters, Alexander "crtmN" Nehr explains why:

"First point Aequitas: Every MYM player used Aequitas during the whole match and uploaded his Aequitas File within 24 hours after the match to the ESL matchpage, as required by the rules. Therefore, there is no reason to protest this point at all.

Second point illegal bindings: Only one illegal binding was found in the config files of one of the MYM players. For that MYM will get 1 Minor Penalty point according to the Intel Extreme Masters rules, because +duck on the mousewheel is forbidden. On the other side it's allowed to bind +jump on the mousewheel.

The last point is the supposedly missing SteamID of one of the MYM players in his ESL profile.
Actually, the player entered it in the wrong place, as steam contact information instead as gameaccount. Still, he entered the SteamID before the match and we verified that he did not tamper with it, afterwards, so there is no reason for a rematch and this also will only be penalized by 2 Minor Penalties.

So overall MYM will get 3 Penalty points which means a prize money reduction of 9% of all prize money they win in the European Championship."

The results hereby stands and MYM will be looking at attending the European Championship in Extreme Mastes IV, which they qualified for with a 2-0 win against Ledpc in the Qualification Round 2 matchup.

Wouldn't mind if Ledpc were even close to MYM's level.. they could never beat MYM fairly they should have just accepted their loss.

How can this not be fair? When LedPC played with a player that was banned from ESL and not allowed to play? And one or more had custom scorebord? LedPC is a low team that can't take a loss.

II. Defining 'Noob' Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared ... /urban dictionary

I dont know about kairi's ban, but i belive isnt a ban, just they have freeze his acc because of being BM or something, and about nice scoreboards... those scoreboards are allowed by esl. I still think this inst fair, not because i like ledpc or mym more or because im spanish... I think that the rules are made to prevent situations like this... if you ignore the rules, or just because a mistake you broke some rules you should be punished... Also kvicken has cz models... which are ilegal too, but anyway. I'm satisfied with how ledpc did play during the match, and i saw a good game. :)

You must have, because I have never seen a player misplacing his SteamID or a player binding duck to the mousewheel forcing a rematch. :-) The missing Aequitas probably would've forced one, if not just given the victory to LedPC(that's what I think should've been done if the file would've been missing), though all Aequitas files were there. :)

I do not see a point and ask for clarification (especially as one of the affected players explained and stated things crystal clear). If a player cheats/misbehaves etc. I do not see the point of blaming a whole country where he/she from.

As far as I know the reasoning of crtmN is based on rules known to the public or the players. Therefore, I do not see an apparent reason why the outcome would have been different if it were MYM who filed the protest.

If I were in MYM`s place I would rather prefer a rematch than losing 9 % of som eventual pricemoney. This because I look at MYM as a better team than ledpc and they would have won a rematch. This doesn`t mean that I think ledpc is a bad team, their skill is great, but not compared to MYM.

ESL is corrupt, everybody knows. They always help to germans teams & tops. Teams from Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and small countries are always killed by admins because this is easy, no like nordics or germans. In the old NGL (another german league) the germans admins killed x6tence in the match vs mouz. x6 decided leave NGL for ever. ESL Extreme Masters III, 2008. Virtus.Pro vs x6tence.VP protest, admins decision: x6 lost the map. The list is long of the corrupt admins decisions, but never with germans or tops teams . I am sure that if ledpc is from germany and not from Spain, rematch 100%

Completely right, still amazed how a non-spanish guy could affirm those very true facts. In addition to Virtus.pro@IEM3 case, I have to say that was due to a flashbug x6tence did which DIDN'T affect that round, even more, x6 lost that round (but then won the match 14-16). Admins decided by "rules are rules" to order a rematch. (Source: www.hltv.org/?pageid=113&matchid=888333) About mousesports@NGL-ONE2's case, that was even more embarrassing. Admin decided to restart a match when one of x6's guys fell down (a bad decision because it doesn't appear on the rulebook). And said x6 forced that restart by teamkilling themselves, which WASN'T true, as you all could see in the in-eyes demo. (Source: www.teamx6tence.com/news.php?id=92)

In the first case, they did it right. The outcome of the round doesn't matter, neither does the outcome of the match. Rules are rules, if you break one, you're punished. Though what do you mean by falling down in the second case? :O Sounds interesting! :S

Of course admins did right in Virtus.pro's case, but I mean it's the same case as MYM's one. MYM did an illegal thing that didn't affect the outcome of the match, but they HAVE to be punished (and... they just got 3 PP, and I don't really know if that's right or not). In mouz's case, it was about DrastyK timing out and admin doing a restart. It was admin's fault, but NGL said it was x6tence's fault for intending to force it, which is obviously false as you can see in r1bera's POV.

Yeah I agree it was wrong in the lower case, though I definitely don't agree with you in the first one. :P First of all, x6 had 3 rounds deducted, if this would've been a bo1 MYM probably would have aswell. And doing something illegal ingame, is imo, worse than just misplacing a SteamID.

Funny u say that, NGL One itself did it on his first edition, in the match between x6tence and SK. x6tence (who won 8-7 first half I think) won pistols + 1 eco, but sNajdaN timed out and admin did sv_restart 1. SK eventually won that match by a close result.

These situations were so pathetic, but is like you said, for ESL, Germans > all Why we did not see these punishment in other teams than Spanish, Italians etc? The answer in the next chapter! PD: I understand the admin decision in this case, I dont talking about it right now.

The fact that you still trying to say MYM did wrong and your superheroes ledPC should've won if kvicken would've written his steamID in right field is just pathetic. Not better than 12 year old kids who cant take a loss. And you say ESL always treat spanish teams bad? Such a statement is just fucking retarded. Spain will never be good at cs anyway. Maybe your biggest chance is to advance through conflicts but you will still never, and I mean never, be top 4 in a major tournament, ESL or not. Not counting gamegune. This reply was more for the above posts. ****ing spanish kids make me RAGE SO MUCH :D

What's what you can't understand? Nobody says MYM is not the fair winner. What we try to explain is that ESL is not fair with small countries teams. All the spanish community knows that MYM is better than ledPC, everybody knows that if the match is played again MYM is going to win ledPC again. But this is not the problem. Try to imagine this faults were made by ledPC, do you really think punishments were 3 PP's? Definetly NOT. I'm sure ledPC would be kicked from the league. Do you think that MYM, playing in this pro league can make this mistakes? The Steam ID is not important, but playing without aequitas is fair in your opinion? Xhiroz gots vista too, but he had never stop the program. It's sad to see this wrong decisions, in my view.

moddii's aequitas was uploaded according to the rules. And you speak about small countries? Spain got five times as many inhabitants than Sweden, so I can't see your point really. If you choose not to trust ESL that's your problem, keep it on your forums.

Andreas "moddiii" Fridh's Aequitas stopped working at 21:02:49 and he played the entire match without it. In EPS Germany, for example, this results in the team losing the match and being given penalty points. Source: hltv.org I'm not talking about population, I'm talking about "gaming tradition", influence...

Did you even read the news? :S First point Aequitas: Every MYM player used Aequitas during the whole match and uploaded his Aequitas File within 24 hours after the match to the ESL matchpage, as required by the rules. Therefore, there is no reason to protest this point at all. You instant go like "OMG ESL DISCRIMINATE SPAIN AGAIN!!!11" In this case there is no reason to replay the game, so why should the game have been replayed if ledPC won?

Rules are rules. Although I would personally have to say I'm more glad to see MYM be punished by ESL penalty points than an actual rematch. Ledpc is a good team, and could very well have won against MYM the second time around... but I think this is a beter punishment for MYM anyways. Mabye now they will think twice before neglecting rules. :]

It was predictable that corrupted ESL werent going to take any action that they would have obviously taken against a "small" team. Anyways, this is all about business, thats why MYM is "alive". I hope all those mentally handicapped swedish fanboys stop calling ledpc losers when they "only" lost 16-14 and 16-12, quite a close match in my eyes.

It is such a stupid rule to prohibit binding duck on mousewheel. As far as I know, ESL wanted to band silent-running using mousewheel. But why then prohibit using duck on scroll if it isn't used to perform silent-run? Skilled player can perform usefull things with duck bound on mousewheel.

Virtus pro @IEM case: "Bug using Using bugs is strictly forbidden. If bugs which are not listed below should be used, the admin can still decide to give out penalties, award rounds to the opposing team or replay a half or the entire match. During the match -Flash grenade bugs exploits are prohibited." The ESL Rulebook says that the admins have the right to replay the entire match if a flashbug is used. ------------------- MYM's case: "Illegal script and bind examples -It is illegal to bind “+duck“ to the mouse wheel or to use a duck script. Regardless of being actively used, if these scripts are found in parts or in full in your configfile, you will be penalized. If multiple players have wrong client settings the team can get a maximum of 2 minor penalties per match. For using +duck, it doesn't say that a rematch is possible, so that sums it up i guess :)

I think x6 lost the game afterwards due to the admins blaming them for the restart, claiming that they had all committed suicide ingame(xD) and demanding a restart, when that clearly wasn't the case after going through all the in-eyes.

The answer to your question why someone claim MYM to be top10 is: 1) They have beaten SK twice, in a BO3 format, lately, and also H2K in the same manner. 2) The team has stunning individual skills 3) The team has a chemistry which results in a very good team play. top 10 or not. Currently that's not a big question. The interesting with this team is that is has a top 3 potential which the future will reveal. They are only lacking experience.
