Triumph sign ryann; part ways with Spongey

The former Envy player rounds out Triumph's roster in lieu of Gabe "Spongey" Greiner ahead of their ESL Pro League campaign.

Ryan "ryann" Welsh has joined the ranks of Triumph as they get ready to dive into their ESL Pro League run. To make room for the 19-year-old in the starting five, Triumph have parted ways with Spongey, who has been let go after over nine months with the organization and was a member of the team that won the ESEA MDL Season 33 North America Finals.

ryann will debut with Triumph against Gen.G in ESL Pro League

ryann will now rejoin his former Envy teammate Kaleb "moose" Jayne in Triumph, as both players were released from their previous organization in early August. Both moose and ryann had started to turn heads before joining Envy, in eUnited and Singularity, respectively, but had steep drops in performance during their time in the Dallas-based organization and will hope to once again find their best form under Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman's leadership.

moose joined Triumph in mid August, at the same time as Erik "penny" Penny, when Michael "Grim" Wince went to Liquid and he Rahul "curry" Nemani stepped down to focus on his studies, and has already competed with Triumph in DreamHack Open Summer and ESL One Cologne.

ryann will play his first official match with Triumph in their ESL Pro League Season 12 opening match against Gen.G, which will take place on Thursday, September 3 at 21:00 .

Triumph's roster is now:

United States Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman
United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson
United States Ryan "ryann" Welsh
Canada Kaleb "moose" Jayne
Canada Erik "penny" Penny

Brazil Marcos "tacitus" Castilho (coach)

Ryann is a support player, and hes not bad. Hes not supposed to get 35 kills and carry his team lol. Its not a huge difference in rating/stats tbh.

Support player role doesn’t exist. Players shouldn’t be excused from shit performances because of their “role”

ROFL. Of course it exists? wtf? A support is basically a player that "gives his life" for another player. Basically a trade OR help with smokes/flashbang so the entry player can get an entry kill.

In any team consisting of people who can left click, especially high level pros, everyone on the damn team should be trading, throwing lined up smokes, and throwing flashbangs. Not just 1 player.

lol? Players have roles dude. Obv everyone can trade/throw flashbangs etc but, they still have roles. Or are you telling me that FalleN, as an example, isnt AWPer? We have roles such as: Lurker Support Entry AWPer 2nd AWPer IGL Rifler -> Which basically is any role that is needed To mention some roles.

Of these roles you listed, only IGL and main AWPer are actually existent. The rest are played interchangeably.

What a shitty argument. Of course there are occasions where they will improvise a role, but overall each one will stick to their role.

Spongey is also a support player and i've seen more out of him than ryan. Also ryan is a prime example as the weakest link in a team just being labeled "support" to compensate for his low skill.

There’s a difference between support and deadweight Besides “support” in cs is a bullshit excuse for sucking ass, you don’t see top teams have shit players who use the “support” excuse

Well, Ryann is a good support player. When or where did a pro team say "Omg we have a support player, thats why we are bad"? lol. All team have a support player. Astralis: Xyp9x OG: NBK MIBR: Taco coL: RUSH 100T: Liazz To mention some. And, 9/10 games these players are in the bottom of the board. Well, maybe not Xyp9x, hes a SOLID support player, probably the best one in the world/game.

Why would you sign such a BOT. This players is literally so bad. I agree that they needed to remove Spongey, because he played trash lately, but adding ryann is a huge mistake. For me they should remove moose, because he is a total BOT aswell, and add Keti, because she is great, and WolfY, because this guy has potential to be one of the best players in NA.
