OG offer support to ruggah following ban: "Casper deserves a second chance"

The players and staff had a meeting in which it was decided that the Danish coach will continue working with the team.

OG have announced that they have offered coach Casper "⁠ruggah⁠" Due their full support after he was handed a 3.75-month ban earlier on Monday by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) for a single-round use of the spectator bug while coaching Dignitas in a 2016 ESL Pro League match against Virtus.pro.

ruggah has been OG's coach since January

"Our CS:GO coach, Casper "ruggah" Due, came to us and explained that he encountered the 'coach bug' earlier in his career, before joining OG," the statement from the organisation read. "We immediately reached out to ESIC with Casper, we informed them of this incident, and we offered our collaboration during the investigation.

"We respect the ESIC decision, and effective immediately Casper will start to fulfill his ban. Maintaining the highest level of competitive integrity is something we consider vital in OG Esports. Following the ESIC's decision, players and staff got together as a team. We decided that Casper deserves a second chance and we want to continue working with him."

ruggah, who had a 25% reduction in his initial five-month ban after his confession was accepted in full by ESIC, joined OG as coach in January of this year, reuniting with his former North player Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså on the international team. The Danish coach will sit out the remainder of the season, starting with IEM New York's European division, which will kick off on October 6.

MIBR lost RMR points because their coach abused the bug in a Valve sponsored tournament, where Valve has the jurisdiction to punish this whatever way they seem fit unlike in other tournaments where the bans are being handed out by the integrity org which is contracted to those TOs who hosted the events where bug was abused. Valve hasn't taken any stance regarding this situation, other than stripping off a team from their points if they abused it in a RMR event

I think this turned from a coach shitshow to an esic shitshow. people with several 1 round occurences over years or people with a single occurence over more rounds arent cheaters / abusers. clean sport? yes sure, but this is bullshit. Imagine being on the list because years ago you had something you thought was a game crash or shit like that. they dont investigate. they dont use brain. they use software and if you had the bug, you are labeld as cheater this isnt about cheat software. you cant install word.exe by accident and cheat. this is a fcking bug and the data covers the possibility that it occured without using it in many cases. so far, there are < 5 coaches who 100% massively abused it! esic goes big now to hide the fact that they have done shit in areas where the real shit happens. now they finally can show toughness, but it hits the wrong people.

There's absolutely no problem. The guys who got 3.75 month bans (112-115 days depending on how they count it) are only missing events held this year. Winter break ends on January 17, 2021. The shortest coach bans end on 16th-19th of January so they might as well take the ban.

Wow...punishing someone for something that was done 4 years ago. ESIC, Michal Slowinski, and Steve Dudenhoeffer are late to the party lol. Do they seriously have nothing better to do right now? There's no reason to review demos prior to 2020 because whatever happened has already happened and cannot be changed. How about they shift their focus to banning coaches that abused the spectator bug in 2020, which has affected the current year's competition. Anything else prior to 2020 should not be looked at and used to ban coaches, but rather to serve as a warning to all coaches that "Hey, we banned these coaches because they abused the bug in 2020. We won't ban anyone for something prior to the current year, but let it serve as a fair warning that you will be punished accordingly if you are found guilty of having abused this bug or any other bug that is used for an unfair advantage".

In case you seriously can't comprehend anything, my argument is that it's pointless to issue bans to coaches that abused this bug prior to 2020. Why? What is said and done cannot be changed and the results of those matches have already happened. Reviewing demos prior to 2020 and banning coaches for abusing the bug for results that are not for the current year does not change the outcome of that match / those matches or the event(s) that it occurred in. Why bother spending the time to review "old" demos when they are irrelevant to current events? It's not like banning coaches for something they did in 2019 and earlier will make any event organizer change the results of those events and re-issue payouts based or anything of the sort. Focus on the current year and make it known that past bug abuses will result in proper punishment if found guilty. This whole thing has turned into a witch hunt and with the way things are currently going, they might as well just ban every coach for at least 3 months to save themselves the time of reviewing hundreds if not thousands of demos.

Wait why are coaches getting banned for abusing bug from " their game " , just to remind u that BIG used jumping bug in 2017 and didnt get banned or suspended for it,that jump bug also gave them a lot of unfair advantages.
