Chet retires from CS:GO

The 100 Thieves coach has announced his retirement from CS:GO.

The news follows last week's report from DBLTAP, which first shed light on Chet "⁠Chet⁠" Singh exploring a possibility of moving to a coaching position in VALORANT. The former Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves coach hasn't confirmed those rumors yet, only stating that his future will be revealed in the coming days.

The 24-year-old is now out of his contract with 100 Thieves, where he plied his trade for the last four months after coming in as a replacement for Aleksandar "⁠kassad⁠" Trifunović. Though the team continued to face difficulties competing against North America's top three teams at the first tournaments with the new addition, they eventually managed to beat FURIA, Liquid, and Evil Geniuses en route to second place at ESL Pro League Season 12, their last showing with Chet.

Chet is reportedly moving to VALORANT

Before his time with Aaron "⁠AZR⁠" Ward & co., Chet was most known for coaching NRG and later Evil Geniuses, with whom he won ESL One New York and StarSeries i-League Season 8 last year and went on to briefly reside in the No. 1 spot in the world ranking shortly after that.

Chet had already contemplated a move to the Riot Games-developed FPS once before, just after he was relieved of his role in Evil Geniuses, but in the end he received a last-minute offer from 100 Thieves that he decided to accept. At the time, he was offered a General Manager position in VALORANT by an unnamed organization.

100 Thieves are now left without a coach:

Nah with riot pushing it it wont be dead but game already declined big time since BETA and that means was overhyped and people got bored of it ( those who left already ) Had over 40 friends in Beta , only 3-4 i see playing Valorant as we speak. Also twitch numbers are not as used to be, not even close.

If you like it better thats fine. What im trying to say is that everyone when PUBG first released overhyped it like the best game ever, CSGO killer, everyone bought, everyone was playing it. Obviously game had myriad of problems and was playing like shit for most. But it was such new experience and different that most didnt mind those flaws and kept playing all day long... Till time passed , they got used to it, hype settled and THEN started noticing more than ever all those flaws they didnt give a fuck about for months. That is happening with Valorant. Is fresh , is another way to play CSGO actually .. it could easily have been a CSGO mod so people overhyping it with the help of streamers ( similar to what happened with pubg ) till all that settles down ( it already started settling ) and in a year or two noone will care as much and everyone will start noticing all the flaws many of us mention already. Which its biggest flaw is that its made in a way to favor casuals more than it should so it loses hard its competitive side and that might work in business aspect of things because more casuals = more population = more money but it will hurt it in the long run specially if CSGO decides to jump on Source 2 engine. And that is because everything in that game is easy enough for everyone to kill, smoke, flash, push, rotate etc and that takes away the satisfaction of doing something extraordinary and cool that not many can do ( spray 3-4 guys with headshots like in CS or know all smokes in a map or fast zoom with AWP someone who is really far away youll never see that in Valorant )
