Despite the 10-month ban handed to him for the coaching bug abuse, Sergey "⁠starix⁠" Ischuk will continue working with the Russian team.

Hard Legion announced on Tuesday that the team will continue working with starix as their coach, but will abide by the ESIC ruling and not use the Ukranian in official matches.

starix's bug abuse dates back to 2017, when he was a part of Natus Vincere, with the news of his ban coming three weeks after he became a part of Hard Legion. For the next 10 months, in ESIC-sanctioned tournaments, he will only be able to help the team outside of a 15-minute window surrounding official matches.

Hard Legion has decided to wait out starix's ban

Following his ban becoming public, starix posted on Twitter that he doesn't remember using the bug, saying that there is "nothing to say on my side". However, he did go on to talk about the situation in an interview for gameinside.ua, stating that he agrees with the punishment, and adding that if he really wanted to abuse the bug, he would "use it on a regular basis and could have the maximum profit from this".

starix is Hard Legion's fourth employee to be banned for the coaching bug abuse. In September, they cut ties with both their main coach Aleksandr "⁠zoneR⁠" Bogatiryev and assistent coach Erik "⁠AKIMOV⁠" Akimov, banned for 36 and 7.5 months respectively by ESIC. On Monday, Egor "fuRy^" Morin, the organization's CEO, was also banned by ESIC for abusing the bug while coaching the same group of players in 2018.

Meanwhile, Hard Legion are down to four players, as trial-member Dmitry "⁠rAge⁠" Bolotov left the squad.

Every good story line needs a villain, that the good guys can fight. Hard Legion seems hell-bent on being the supervillain of CS, cheating their asses off and not giving a fak about being caught. Can't even be bothered to appologize. What absolute filth. But it's sure gonna make it more interesting to see them fight the good guys, going forward... I kinda like it.

Im not really concerned bout starix using it once 3 years ago, but am more concerned about the organization's 4 ppl in total caught using it, id find it hard to believe that players didnt know, but i guess you always have to have the benefit of a doubt, but jeez, 4 ppl in total from the same org, what a shame, but unfortunately cant prove it, and therefore not guilty until you're caught :( but at least going forward all coaches and players are forced to record and save their conversations in game from what i heard!
