The Polish coach, who was among the 37 people banned by ESIC on Monday for using the coaching bug, will keep his place in AGO.

The Polish organization decided to retain the services of Mikołaj "⁠miNirox⁠" Michałków, who has been AGO's coach for over three years, due to the "incidental nature" of the cause of the 23-year-old's offense that saw him banned by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) on Monday.

miNirox was handed a ban lasting for 3.75 months after confessing to a one-time use of the coaching bug — effectively the shortest possible length given the 25% reduction for an accepted confession —, for three rounds in an April 2018 match against then-Swedish side GODSENT in the DreamHack Open Austin 2018 Europe closed qualifier.

miNirox keeps his job at AGO

The organization was able to confirm with ESIC that the aforementioned match was the only case in which miNirox used the infamous exploit.

"The board of x-kom AGO does not see any grounds to terminate the contract with miNirox due to the incidental nature of the event," AGO's Head of Esports, Maciej Opielski, said in a statement. "Mikolaj gave us information about the incident, and then we reported to the ESIC together. We had confirmation from both the ESIC and the coach that three rounds in the game in April 2018 were the first and only such case."

Although miNirox will continue to work with AGO, for the period of the ban he will not be allowed to be present around the team, to communicate with the players in any fashion, and to enter the server during official matches in ESIC member-organized events, which notably includes DreamHack, ESL, BLAST, Eden Esports, and LVP.

True, it would be funny if volvo came and permabanned them all, or most of them

But the teams with banned coaches are still playing at a disadvantage because their coaches cannot participate in the map veto or communicate with the players mid-match.

I feel like all teams are sticking together with their coaches because ESIC is just getting warmed up. Knowing Ian Smith there is a vast array of things that will go under scrutinity and it probably won't ends up at the coach. A bit like turtling for the incoming storm.

Orgs are keeping the coaches because the coach's work was not based on a bug unlike zoner, they are really doing things but they unintentionally bugged and in the heat of the moment they thought it would be a good idea to 'abuse' it

I agree that he should keep his job, but abusing the but was not just an incident. Hopefully should be a wake up call for all coached and players, but I wouldn't write this off as a one time thing

Would not change anything. Robban did report that bug to admin in 2017 and what? They still think he used it in a 16-1 loss. So many years and volvo did nothing. Now they are banning left and right, most likely bug would go public and this is them washing their hands off this thing.

My point was that he should have reported this bug to the game devs asap, it's not that hard to use the damn e-mail to send them the details... And to clarify, it wasn't cheating per se but exploiting the buggy game. But as a person who found it out and kept quiet about it it was simply a way to cheat the system and opponents.
