Perfect World Asia League Fall reaches playoffs

The group stage of the Regional Major Ranking tournament has determined the six teams who will compete for the grand prize of $25,000 and 2500 RMR points in the double-elimination playoffs.

The Asian RMR event has whittled its participants down to the final six teams following the conclusion of the last match, which saw TYLOO edge past TIGER to claim the top spot in the group stage over Erdenetsogt "⁠erkaSt⁠" Gantulga’s troops with an 8-1 record.

Joining the aforementioned duo in the double-elimination bracket are Chinese sides ViCi and Invictus, with the former recording the best round difference in the group stage (+77) to snag second place from TIGER and the latter handing TYLOO their only defeat of the tournament. Meanwhile, Checkmate and Bren round out the progressing teams with 5-4 and 4-5 win-loss scores, respectively.

Beyond, ZIGMA and After all had the chance to make it to the playoffs prior to their final matches, but the teams fell at the final hurdle with all three on the end of losses, while HZ finished rock bottom by picking up just one win out of nine.

Perfect World Asia League Fall will enter a four-day break during the week before the playoffs commence on October 9 with the first-round matches. In the opening bout, Invictus will take on Checkmate in a rematch of their closely-contested group stage encounter, which saw the Chinese team narrowly emerge victorious after a 16-14 victory on map three.
