mousesports release Rejin

The coach was released from the German organization after being handed a nearly 20-month ban by ESIC for abusing the coaching bug.

Allan "Rejin" Petersen was suspended from MOUZ for the past month, after he had come forward at the beginning of September to publicly admit to his repetitive use of the infamous coaching bug, from a time when he was the coach of Tricked in 2017-2019.

Late last month, the Dane was among the 37 coaches who were punished by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) for using the exploit. Having been found guilty of using the bug in seven instances, Rejin received a ban from all ESIC-member events for 19.8 months; the maximum amount of time given a 45% reduction for an accepted admission and assistance with the investigation.

Rejin parts ways with mousesports

MOUZ have now parted ways with the 32-year-old permanently, expressing their sadness over his departure and stating that the organization's "firm stand for competitive integrity left [them] with no other option."

The German organization is next in the line of several others who have announced their response upon learning that their coaches have received a ban by ESIC. While some organizations decided to release the people who have been caught, such as Morgan "B1GGY" Madour and Aleksandr "zoneR" Bogatiryev, other coaches received support from their organizations and remained there, with some of the most notable being OG's Casper "ruggah" Due, FURIA's Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira, ENCE's Slaava "Twista" Räsänen, Hard Legion's Sergey "starix" Ischuk, and AGO's Mikołaj "miNirox" Michałków.

Yea thats true. Valve is very lazy when it comes to new content or just simply caring about game that gives them a lot of money. Thats why i hoped for Valorant success, maybe it will force Valve to compete and care about CS.

:( fucked how people like Starix get kept by their team despite being completely unrepentant but people like Rejin who are clearly genuinely remorseful get cut. I hope he finds another team willing to bring him on in another role to ride out the ban.

Someone who does something and admits they did wrong is always going to be a better guy than someone who does something and does not admit they did wrong - or in his case, just dodges the mea culpa and barely acknowledges it happening at all

Where was all his niceness after first time? After second? After third? Mb fourth? No, he did it only when he understood that truth will out anyway. Mb starix would confess as well, bad for him he forgot his SINGLE case. Mb he should did it more times, so he wouldn't forgot it, and then confess??? So you would call him nice guy this way?

I see where you're coming from, of course Rejin's acts were more serious than Starix's, and his ban is justified, but I don't think it's fair to say the acts of someone in 2018 reflect on their character in 2020. Rejin made his amends and tried to make things right by admitting his mistakes (true, after the investigation was announced) and by helping out with the investigation. While Starix used the opportunity to stir up drama that died years ago and then scuttered away when the investigation turned to him. Of the two recently, I know which one I trust more. I doubt his story about forgetting anyway, if he did genuinely forget, surely it's a ridiculously stupid thing to actually say that publically, how did he think people would react to that? Especially with his already negative perception after the Flusha comments

It doesn't, the ban is his punishment. I think that's enough, I know a lot of people don't, but I personally think that's enough. He's serving time already, no need to add insult to injry

That's fair, but I think him assisting in the investigation at least shows a will to be a better man and competitor in the future + iirc he did it on the same day as the ESIC investigation was announced, so to me I think he probably made the decision to come out with it a day or two before. Can't know for sure of course but that's how it reads to me

Ban him for life. IBP gets life time bans for throwing a match. Actual cheating gets you a few months off. Valve needs to step in here and make a precedent or their game becomes even more of a joke with an actual competitor on the horizon now.
