WCG confirms 2010 event plans
The World Cyber Games commitee has exclusively confirmed to HLTV.org that plans are in motion to organise the 2010 event.
There has been speculation over whether there will be any more WCG events after this year's World Finals in Chengdu as the organisation behind the competition has shed no light about its future plans.
Last year, Chengdu was announced as the hosting city for the 2009 event in April, but the South Korean-based organisation has remained tight-lipped on the Chinese city's successor.
Contacted by HLTV.org, WCG official Yvette In revealed that talks are underway regarding next year's event, and that the new hosting city will soon be announced.
With the 2009 WCG Finals taking place in just one month's time, it could be possible that the hosting city for next year's event will be announced at the official press conference, to take place prior to the start of the tournaments."We are still in the process of selecting it [hosting city]," In told HLTV.org. "Since 2010 is the 10th anniversary of the WCG we are taking more time to select the best city than usual."
