New England Whalers replace FURIA in IEM Beijing-Haidian
The Brazilian squad has decided to skip ESL's event in favor of staying in Europe, with the team ranked #27 in the world taking their spot.
New England Whalers have been added to the IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 North America team list after FURIA decided to not participate in the tournament.
In the official announcement, it is explained that "due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions" FURIA decided against returning from their European bootcamp to compete in the online tournament scheduled for November 6-22.

After winning IEM New York North America and qualifying for the IEM Global Challenge LAN in December, the Andrei "arT" Piovezan-led lineup arrived in Serbia for a bootcamp on Monday and will be taking part in BLAST Premier Fall, where they are placed in Group C.
Another North America-based team competing in BLAST currently is Evil Geniuses. Unlike FURIA, Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and co. are seemingly set to return home to compete in IEM Beijing-Haidian, where they could earn their IEM Global Challenge spot.
FURIA pulling out of IEM Beijing-Haidian opened a slot in the event for New England Whalers, who have recently impressed in IEM New York by finishing sixth, and are sitting on a flawless 13-0 record in ESEA MDL Season 35.
The team list for IEM Beijing-Haidian North America is now as follows:
IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 North America
Qualifier
Jonathan 'djay' Dallal
Mario 'malbsMd' Samayoa
Tsvetelin 'CeRq' Dimitrov

Edgar 'MarKE' Maldonado
