ENCE to compete in IEM Beijing-Haidian with doto

The 24-year-old HAVU player is set to represent the Finnish giants in the ESL event, which kicks off on November 6.

ENCE will attend the upcoming IEM Beijing-Haidian with HAVU's Joonas "⁠doto⁠" Forss in place of Jani "⁠Aerial⁠" Jussila, it was revealed on the tournament's official website. It's still unclear whether the 24-year-old has signed a permanent deal as both organisations are remaining tight-lipped on the matter.

ENCE announced last month that Aerial was on sick leave for an indefinite period of time to recharge and focus on his well-being. Before the end of the month, DBLTAP reported that the Finnish giants were targetting Jesse "⁠zehN⁠" Linjala, but it seems now that the 28-year-old could be staying with the rest of the GODSENT roster, which has been the subject of interest from FunPlus Phoenix.

doto will fill in for Aerial in ENCE

doto, who has been playing for HAVU since September 2019, was statistically the second-best performer for the team in the last three months, averaging a 1.09 rating.

A total of 16 teams will compete in IEM Beijing-Haidian Europe, with ENCE placed in Group B, in which they will face Astralis in their opening game on November 13.

With doto, ENCE's lineup for IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe is as follows:

its really hard to get good finnish players to your roster at the time. they tried to get Zehn but godsent didnt want to give him so HAVU is like a farm team for ence.

+1 it was a bad move and also bad communication about it. this is ofc post-wisdom, but their public image is more or less ruined because of that. 3/6 of the team already replaced (yes counted twista too), but still I see no end. I would like to see the statistics on fan gear sales before and after this thing :D

It seems to me that they did not really have PR professional at that point to tell them that it is bad idea for the public image to kick IGL who people sympathized quite strongly at the time (now even more since the public narrative is that he was "backstabbed"..) I think aleksiB and sergei had the most positive vibe on them before this incident, maybe xSeven too. OFC you need results on top of that but still public image is a thing to consider. That is one way of respecting fans IMO. Here in Finland I know some people who do not even play started following ENCE 's games just because of the underdog story and success in the majors, but that story left ENCE with aleksiB. Now they are firepower without story (or great IGL). I still hope they can gain story again, bc they were still great thing before for finnish cs scene.

Until Krieg meta started. For some reason, suNny was the only one playing with krieg, as others prefered AK instead of it. Compared to 100T or Furia, which had whole team using it. On AUG meta, Aerial was like the only player in pro scene, who took M4 instead of AUG. Some questionable things.

it is not that rare to get a free pass from military service, some people even lie to the doctor about some mental things like anxiety, depression etc to get it postponed indefinitely or just get straight up freed from the service. also bunch of men decide to undergo civil service rather than military service.

Conscription is one thing. Plus some of these "old" players have been competing for a long time now, but inside Finland only. There hasn't really been notable Finnish teams that would've gained much attention outside Finland. Even Doto has HLTV matches from as early as 2015, but at least I haven't heard of him before he joined Havu. Esports in Finland has taken good steps in recent years, so we will hopefully see more yung hitters from Finland in the future.

high tier finnish cs is really small and closed so you have to wait long time until you get chance to even possible try. Teams like to just shuffle same players between them.

+1. Finland barely have any national LANs and the only one are dominated by the middle ground (Havu, SJ, Kova , Hreds). No amateurs/juniors have motivation to go to another city just to get fucked by semi-pros who have played since 1.6 nonstop. Plus Finland is kinda left out of EU cs. Nobady else speak finnish than Finland. Swedish plays rather with norwegians so they dont have to chance language. Russians and Estonians are CIS and rather speak russian.
