Liquid ease past Chaos to advance to IEM Beijing-Haidian playoffs

Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip's side extended their winning record in series play to 5-1 over Chaos, who will have a second chance to qualify for playoffs in the Group A decider match.

It was a one-sided affair through and through as Liquid made short work of Chaos in a two-map series, securing a 16-8 victory on Nuke before dominating on Dust2 with a 16-2 scoreline to book a spot in the semi-finals.

Chaos remain in the running for playoffs as they will face off against the winner of the Group A elimination match between Rugratz and New England Whalers, slated to kick off on Tuesday at 22:00 .

EliGE put up a strong showing against Chaos on Nuke

Liquid were in control from the onset on Chaos' map pick of Nuke, shutting down attacking attempts on the A site round after round for a 5-0 start. Back-to-back mutli-kill rounds from Nathan "⁠leaf⁠" Orf allowed Chaos to break through the Liquid defense, but Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski and Michael "⁠Grim⁠" Wince fought back with double and triple kill rounds of their own to keep Liquid in control. It was a 1vs3 clutch from Erick "⁠Xeppaa⁠" Bach that finally swung momentum in Chaos' favour, with the team managing a respectable six rounds by the break to keep themselves in contention.

However, the second half was anything but close as Liquid continued in their winning ways, with Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken and Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic combining for a 2vs5 to attain match point for their side before the team closed things out.

Chaos were left out of sorts on Dust2 as Grim got off to a strong start, with the rest of Liquid stepping up to bat as the team dominated their opposition for a flawless 11-round streak. Although Chaos mustered two rounds of their own towards the end of the half, the scoreline was far too lopsided for a comeback effort following the side swap, with Liquid wasting little time in bringing the series to an end with three final rounds.

He didn't carry anyone, everyone in liquid did great on this match, depending on your role sometimes you get more kills sometimes you get less, but anyone was carried here

Twistzz was having a really good game on Nuke as well, and Grim was basically the king of Dust2. But yeah they were all looking in pretty good form.

Astralis has always been there nemesis. But Liquid was number 1 in the world last year, and Astralis was second. Ofc Liquid can play up with the best EU teams.

EGs are in Seattle so what’s your point. Also EG has only had 1 EU player Liquid has had a bunch over their time as a CS team. And their most notable achievement of making the Major finals was because of an EU player

Based on what? Being inferior to EG and Furia for the most of the year and beating some NA puggers in 2 maps? EG challenged 2 top 10 teams with breehze and ethan underperforming furia put some fight to g2niko. Please get on the ground it probably wont be pretty considering they are literally pugging atm

liquid's style isn't loose and messy like furia and eg's form has already been worsening even in na. they started losing to furia over and over again while liquid's form vs furia was slowly increasing. eg's form in na b4 they left for eu was worse than liquid's and liquid can definitely beat eu teams
