Renegades defeat ORDER to win DreamHack Masters Winter Oceania; ViCi secure Asia title over TIGER

Renegades came from the lower bracket to take revenge on ORDER in the Oceania grand final while ViCi won Asia in an upper bracket run.

The recently crowned IEM Beijing-Haidian champions in Oceania and Asia, Renegades and ViCi, respectively, have repeated their feat at DreamHack Masters Winter, winning their grand finals against ORDER and TIGER.

Renegades' victory at DreamHack Masters Winter makes this their ninth consecutive victory in Oceania, where they have been dominating since the beginning of the online era. Unlike IEM Beijing-Haidian, however, the top Australian side didn't have a clean run in the upper bracket as they were upset by ORDER in the upper bracket final.

INS, Hatz and dexter ended the grand final with 1.34 ratings

ORDER waited for Renegades in the grand final after Christopher "dexter" Nong and company took out AVANT in the consolidation final with a 2-1 score line, but the final started off with Renegades winning Inferno, one of the maps they gave up in the upper bracket upset, after which they plowed through their rivals on Mirage and Dust2, winning cleanly despite their map disadvantage.

The tournament standings were rounded out by the two teams that lost their opening matches, AVANT and Chiefs in third and fourth place. The final standings are therefore quite similar to those of IEM Beijing-Haidian, with the only difference being Chiefs coming in last as they didn't compete at the previous event, where the fourth place went to VERTEX.

ViCi, the team that broke TYLOO's iron grip over the Asian scene at PAL Fall and IEM Beijing-Haidian, have now secured another title at DreamHack Masters Winter, although they didn't clash their Chinese rivals in the tournament bracket. Zhuo "advent" Liang and company started their run with a clean victory over Invictus before facing TIGER in the upper bracket, where they lost their only map of the tournament.

zhokiNg accrued a 1.51 rating in ViCi's seven maps played

TYLOO, who were sent to the lower backet early on, beat Invictus 2-0 to stay alive, but were unable to take revenge on TIGER, who once again got the best of YuLun "Summer" Cai and company in the consolidation final to set up a rematch against ViCi in the grand final.

ViCi were quick to extend their 1-0 upper bracket advantage to 2-0 in the grand final with a 16-6 victory over TIGER on Inferno, after which they were able to win a hard fought Train that went the distance, 16-14, to secure their second consecutive title in Asia.

True but massive potential in this roster as it is. Pretty good roster overall and guaranteed qualifying for big events.

They were doing very well at Leipzig early this year. If that performance continues they will be top 10 eventually.
