Chaos best TeamOne to win DreamHack Masters Winter North America
The North American squad put up a strong showing in the grand final to secure back-to-back tournament victories.
Chaos have claimed victory in the North American division of DreamHack Masters Winter, defeating TeamOne 3-2 in the grand final (3-16 Nuke, 16-9 Train, 16-2 Overpass, 13-16 Mirage, 16-10 Vertigo).
The win marks the second tournament victory for the Chaos roster after they defeated Triumph in the grand final of IEM Beijing-Haidian, and offers the team a small conciliation as their organisation prepares to release their roster and exit CS:GO.
It was an entirely dominant showing from TeamOne to kick things off, the trio of Pedro "Maluk3" Campos, Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, and Matheus "pesadelo" Panisset combining to crush any vestiges of hope for Chaos on their map pick of Nuke. A stalwart defense from the Brazilians put them ahead 12-3 at the break, a lead which they wasted little time in closing out in the second half, taking the map 16-4.
The script was flipped on Train as it was Chaos who reigned supreme, helmed by a stellar individual effort from Nathan "leaf" Orf. The 17-year-old led his side to a 10-5 lead at halftime, and although TeamOne narrowed the gap with four rounds at the onset of the second half, a 30-kill performance from leaf ensured Chaos a map victory as they put the series at even keel.

Overpass unfolded in similar fashion as leaf ran rampant over TeamOne's defenses, mustering a 2.10 rating and averaging 125.7 damage per round as Chaos made up for an 0-2 start by winning 16 rounds in a row to cruise to a map victory.
It seemed as if Chaos had complete control of the series as they continued to pick apart TeamOne on Mirage, pushing up to a 7-1 start on the defense; however, the Brazilian roster finally managed to stabilize as they fought back into the half, bringing themselves within one round of their opposition as they swapped to the defense.
Chaos looked to catch out TeamOne as they took an aggressive stance on the offensive, using a rapid pace to enter into bombsites, but Matheus "prt" Scuvero and Bruno "b4rtiN" Câmara remained immovable forces as they helped their side narrowly remain ahead, forcing a Vertigo decider as they edged out a 16-13 map victory.
There, on a map which Chaos had only one recorded official, the North American side put up a stellar defensive effort, this time led by Erick "Xeppaa" Bach and Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado. Only three rounds went the way of TeamOne in the first half as Chaos left no opportunity for their Brazilian opponents to get into the map, and despite a short comeback effort from Maluk3 and company in the second half, Chaos managed to maintain control and claim victory 16-10 to take the series.
