The French-Balkan team have decided on the five-man starting lineup they will use going forward.

G2 have reached the decision to keep François "⁠amanek⁠" Delaunay in the starting roster and bench Audric "⁠JACKZ⁠" Jug, the organization has announced. The 28-year-old has been allowed to explore his options while he remains contracted to the organization.

The decision is a result of month-long trials between the two members, who took turns playing in the starting roster throughout November and the beginning of December in the aftermath of G2's signing of Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač.

JaCkz is allowed to explore other options

amanek played with the squad at BLAST Premier Fall Series and at DreamHack Masters Winter with varying results, as G2 topped their group at the former event and exited the latter in the group stage. Meanwhile, JACKZ took part in IEM Beijing-Haidan and helped the team reach the semi-finals at the tournament.

"We had six players with different profiles and qualities, so our goal was to determine which combination would work best on the field," Jérôme "⁠NiaK⁠" Sudries said about the process of choosing the correct fit. "Our test focused on JaCkz and AmaNEk, and we quickly realised that our system benefited more from François' qualities."

JACKZ leaves the active lineup as its second-longest standing member, having joined G2 in late 2018 alongside coach Damien "⁠maLeK⁠" Marcel. With him in the lineup, the team most notably won the Champions Cup Finals and Good Game League in 2019, placed second at ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals as well as at IEM Katowice 2020, and briefly reached the No.1 spot in HLTV.org's World Ranking in the middle of this year.

G2 made the final decision between the two choices at the dawn of the last tournament they will play in in 2020, the BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Finals, which kicks off on Tuesday. The Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković-led side will play a familiar matchup in FURIA, with whom they've exchanged two series in the past month, in the opening round of the upper bracket on Wednesday at 13:30 .

There are a lot of similarities but the finesse and speed of the varying situations give very little room to not be exavtly on point with your team and difference in playstyles is much bigger in CSGO then LoL. Also, information in CSGO is much more specific and decisions need to be made faster then in League and that makes it hard to stay on point with players being swapped. That's my opinion on the matter.

This is absolutely terrible logic. You need a mixture of both aim and situational awareness in CSGO. But aim is overrated in CS, a lot of the best players are good because of how they play situations, not because of aim. Also some maps don't always suit a player's style. I'm surprised it took this long for teams to adopt extra players, you can have good chemistry with 6 or 7 people so long as everyone plays together.

lol. Best players play situations? Not really. The best players people regard are the players with the best aim. Doesnt matter how much you try to spin it. Zywoo, s1mple, Niko, device are probably all regarded as top 5 players. Similarities? All have crazy aim compared to most pros whilst also being very good within a system (Niko less so, but his aim makes up for it.) On the contrary, players like Stewie arent given praise because his aim sucks whilst his strats arent the worst, they lose because their players lose most of their duels making the play/shot calling look bad.

You are fucking stupid, holy shit. Actually watch how those top players position themselves and set up their duels. It's the difference between being an aimstar and being a top player. Device and Zywoo especially make very intelligent plays without relying heavily on outshooting their opponents. Niko is also very good at understanding the position of his opponents, which is why his aim is so good (especially his older desgle plays). Yes, they have good aim, but the majority of players in top teams have good aim. Everything in CS is about minimizing risk for advantage, you can't just expect to outshoot all of your opponents, this is the fundamental difference between most "good" players and most pros. Twistzz, for instance, has better aim that most players. His headshot accuracy is pretty crazy. Yet he's been far less impactful recently because when you rely only on aiming other players can kill you based on solid fundamentals or team play. The way many top teams play now, it's much harder to isolate for single aim duels than it was earlier in the game's history. If you ever play on a real team, against real pros, you will understand these things.

Necessary move for G2 but still really unfortunate for JACKZ. The biggest question will be whether or not G2 will suffer from JACKZ no longer being there to keep their spirits up. I'm not sure if JACKZ's game is versatile enough for him to slot in to Vitality as their 7th man but perhaps that could be still be his next destination. Would be a shame if someone as skilled as JACKZ ended up wasting away in Heretics or even worse, in FaZe Clan.

I hate that he fell off so much this year, he was one of the most impactful players for the team before Nexa and huNter joined.
