Giants close CS:GO division

The team around Ricardo "⁠fox⁠" Pacheco has been released from the Spanish organization.

Giants has closed its male CS:GO division and release the current team, the organization has announced. The Spanish side made the decision to cut the division six months after its acquisition of x6tence, who currently fields the Danish squad around Marcus "⁠maNkz⁠" Kjeldsen, ranked 50th in the world.

"Since the acquisition of x6tence by Good Game Group, a business group of which Giants Gaming Esports is a part, we faced a difficult dichotomy to resolve if we wanted to keep both groups in Valve's competitive circuit," the organization's statement on its website reads.

fox and company part ways with Giants

Giants has been one of the biggest names in the Iberian region for the past three and a half years in CS:GO, having first fielded Spanish-majority lineups before slowly transitioning towards a Portuguese roster from 2018 onwards.

After losing four of their members to SAW at the end of 2019, Giants' latest roster was built throughout 2020 around long-time member and leader fox. The team peaked at No. 54 in the ranking in November, shortly after qualifying for Nine to Five 6 and placing in the top eight at the main event.

According to a report by Fraglider, the Portuguese lineup has been linked with a move to OFFSET, whom three of their players represented in 2019.

+1 fox should be able to play until he says it's time... and as long teams want him to play for them. He said in an interview that his objective now it's to grow this lineup into the future, helping PR and Nopej to keep improving because if they rise, they can carry our scene on the long haul. No problem, but I rarely come across Brits in CSGO. In Spain servers which I sometimes connect to, it's always a 3-4 stack of people who refuse to speak anything but portuguese/spanish, and call me retarded, troll, cancer etc. I honestly think both nations are the worst. Maybe Spanish are worse than Portuguese, but it's all because of the stacks, people are empowered to be toxic to you knowing they won't get kicked by their friends.

what ? u just need to search for matche's section in the players profile lol... The spanish guys played almost only against iberian teams, Giants have at least 4 Foreigner tournaments on record's .. The only match Zerozone has against foreigner team's is Sprout lol // And wygers everytime they played against foreigner's teams they loose ... Giants winned against Nexus 2 times 2-0, Copenhagen Flame's, Alternate ataxx, LDLC, and almost beat ESPADA, NEMIGA, lilmix and Izako Boars ..
