The first semifinal at Global Challenge Dubai is coming up soon, we here bring you a small pre-match interview.

We caught up with Faruk "pita" Pita from MYM, to hear him about the performance of his team here in Dubai, the expectations of facing Vitriolic and more.

You have reached the final stages here in Dubai, it is the first international event for you and your team. Please put some words on your performance here in Dubai.

It has been excellent so far, we are very pleased with our results and we hope we can continue in the same way as we have done so far.

You are facing the Polish team Vitriolic in the semifinal, a team that during the last two days seemed to have stepped up their game, since they have been on a downhill ride for a long time. Please describe how you see the teams as being your opponent here in the semifinal.

Well, we have played them in practice games and we have been quite good, but before this tournament we felt like Vitriolic would be easier for us to play, but as we saw the games yesterday, we see they are on a good level right now and we think they are good, also better than my expectations.

Will your team be a better team today?

We will see.

Looking at how many Swedish teams made it to the semifinals, its three teams out of four, which is the first time ever. It makes it likely that we will have an all Swedish final here in Dubai. Should you win your semifinal, who would rather face, fnatic or SK?

SK of course, we have already beaten fnatic. It would be fun to play fnatic on other maps also, as GeT_RiGhT said yesterday, he would like to play us on other maps than dust2, so I would like to show them we can beat them on any map. About SK, it would be fun since its zet’s old team, its not like we have any revenge to claim, but it would be nice to shut them down as well.

Looking beyond Global Challenge Dubai, what else is coming up for MeetYourMakers?

As it is now, DreamHack Winter and maybe Arbalet Cup Europe and we are aiming to reach the European Championship finals in Extreme Masters next year at CeBIT. Also I want to put up a big thank to our sponsor Puma.

nothing wrong with being confident. cs has a mental aspect to it that can give you the extra push you need to win a match. coming into a big match like this, it is better to be confident than have a little voice in the back of your head telling you you might lose. sorry was meant for #45

guys, please dont get me wrong, I might sound arrogant, but im a good guy. outside the game, we are good friends with the Vitriolic team, its just fun to psych eachother during the game, and im sure they would have done the same to us. Still, the fans for me and my team is the most important, and as said, dont get me wrong, im just joking and having a good time. peace

not surprising, Vitriolic are amazing but also quite arrogant. one must not forgot who they used to be. PGS was one of the most feared teams of all time, and they keep acting like if they just won another ESWC. I think the adrenaline make them this way, because when they look objectively at how they are doing, must be quite obvious that they currently aren't good enough to say "you suck" to another top team.
