We are down to the final eight teams in the single-elimination bracket.

The European open qualifier for DreamHack Masters Spring has reached the best-of-three stages after an eventful day that saw plenty of upsets.

Sprout and MIBR were among the first big names to exit the tournament followings a defeat in the third round of the bracket. Winstrike, Dignitas, ENCE and EXTREMUM could not make it past the fourth round, with fnatic, the No.1 seed of the qualifier, crashing out in the fifth round following a surprise loss to GROND.

fnatic could not reach the BO3 stage of the qualifier

The final best-of-one round saw one game cancelled as IQUE were disqualified due to fielding a player, 14-year-old Jimi "⁠Jimpphat⁠" Salo, who does not meet the tournament's age requirement.

Movistar Riders are now the only team inside the top 30 still alive in the tournament following SINNERS' elimination in the Round of 16 by Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev's K23. The qualifier will resume on Friday at 18:00 with the quarter-final matches, which will determine the four teams joining HEROIC, Cloud9, Complexity and OG in the closed bracket.

Some teams just got fucked by a bad bracket/matchup versus some teams getting lucky brackets/matchups.. Budapest beating BLUEJAYS, Singularity beating Alternate Attax who just swapped out stfn, VOYVODA got lucky with the DQ... but honestly the team probably wins that game and qualifies anyways. Funny how a 14 year old got exposed that late into the tournament, the other teams that got eliminated by them are probably malding lol. Sinners had to play K23, Forze lost to Movistar... these are teams that could have easily beaten teams like Budapest and Singularity. Just unlucko bracket. Fnatic = Envy 2.0 hltv confirmed (and this is comming from a fnatic fan - sort of) Budapest Five is not that bad actually, I'm not saying they would've beaten Sinners 100 percent or anything like that, but they can give t3 teams run for their money and frankly there're matches which they do win..

Fnatic's just so weird. I really thought watching them at summit they looked like Jackinho was going to change a lot... just a short honeymoon period I guess. Fair enough, I probably shouldn't have said B5 would have easily been beaten, they can put up a fight for sure. I just think Sinners and Forze are in solid form right now, but they are two inconsistent teams so their would have been a shot for B5.

I believe the matches are not on HLTV because they were early open qualifiers which are not usually covered on HLTV (probably due to the quantity of matches/players involved). There should be a bracket on ESEA containing all of the matches.

BO1 open quals in EU. Really tough.. One slip up and you are done. Some of the people in the comments have no idea how hard it is and are just mad cause they lost money or that they never can achieve the level of some of these players.
