ropz heroics not enough as ENCE beat mousesports in ESL Pro League Group B

The Estonian star put on a dominant display in this nail-biting three-map affair.

ENCE got their ESL Pro League campaign off to a great start following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over MOUZ in the opening match of Group B. Fresh off a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over Finnish rivals HAVU on Friday, ENCE secured narrow wins on Train and Inferno, either side of a Vertigo beating, but the talk of the town as the series came to an end was the high-class display from Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool, who did his best to keep MOUZ in this contest.

ENCE made a confident start to the series and surged to a 6-2 lead on Train before their momentum was halted by a 1v3 clutch from Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand. MOUZ ended their CT side down by just one round, and enjoyed a spell of dominance early in the second half after winning a round with only Desert Eagles, with the scoreline blooming to an 11-9 lead in their favour. But despite an impressive showing by ropz, who ended the map with 32 frags to his name, MOUZ were unable to break down a resilient ENCE, who quickly laid the game to rest.

Vertigo, MOUZ' surprise pick, was a complete blowout. ropz carried his impressive form from the previous map and went 20-9 in the first half, while acoR won all five opening duels, as the team cruised to an 11-4 lead with a dominant offensive display. ENCE found a lifeline in the second half with a clean pistol round, but MOUZ hit back immediately and strolled to a comfortable victory.

ENCE came out all guns blazing on Inferno, tearing the MOUZ defence apart to take a 9-3 lead, but the final rounds of the half were controlled by Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong's troops. David "⁠frozen⁠" Čerňanský came to life in the second half, helping MOUZ to go on a 7-1 run in the gun stages, but ENCE held firm and locked down the map in the final round of regulation, leaving the Slovakian talent in despair as he almost pushed the game to overtime with a last-gasp clutch.
