NIP defeat ENCE to secure first win in ESL Pro League S13

The Swedish side ended their losing streak with a comfortable victory over Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's side.

After three one-sided maps, Ninjas in Pyjamas claimed a 2-1 victory over ENCE in the second round of ESL Pro League Season 13 Group B matches. The team led by Hampus "⁠hampus⁠" Poser has put a stop to their four-series losing streak, showing positive signs ahead of Ninjas in Pyjamas's difficult fixtures against FaZe, MOUZ, and Vitality.

ENCE's pick of Nuke blew up in their face as the offensive plan of Snappi and co. barely made a dent in Ninjas in Pyjamas's defenses, who speedrun the map and took a 16-2 victory. Similarly, Ninjas in Pyjamas looked bleak on their map pick, Mirage, which ENCE played for the first time in an official match. With Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi shining (25K-9D), the international squad took it 16-5.

The conclusion came on Inferno, where ENCE had some chances to make it interesting, but failed to do so. They struggled to build an economy as CT, finishing the half with just five rounds, and lost the second-round force as T, opening the path for Ninjas in Pyjamas to close it out 16-7.

"They really countered our T-side," hampus said in the post-game interview when asked about the blowout on Mirage. "I think they watched our game against G2 yesterday, they had a lot of setups that countered us in the middle. I died like a noob a few times because they had full control of what I was doing."

When quizzed about the veto futher, the in-game leader explained that Ninjas in Pyjamas were ready to play ENCE on Train, a key part of their victory over MOUZ on Saturday, and noted that the preparation of Ninjas in Pyjamas's analyst Danny "⁠mahone⁠" Hsieh made it really easy for the Swedes to win Nuke: "Our analyst had a five-minute video, we watched it, and we knew what they were doing on Nuke. It was really easy, every round was exactly as the demo."

As Ninjas in Pyjamas got on the board with a win, the race for the top three spots in ESL Pro League Season 13 Group B warms up. Björn "⁠THREAT⁠" Pers's squad will be looking to add more to their tally on Monday, as they meet FaZe at 12:00 . Later the same day, ENCE will be hoping they can grab an upset over the recently-rejigged G2 at 15:30 .
