FaZe beat mousesports 2-0 in ESL Pro League
Finn "karrigan" Andersen defeated his former MOUZ teammates in their first encounter since the IGL's return to FaZe.
FaZe bounced back from their 1-2 defeat at the hands of Vitality in the ESL Pro League Season 13 Group B opening day with a victory against MOUZ in the second round of matches, which puts the Christopher "dexter" Nong-led squad in a precarious situation with two losses in as many games after their initial loss to ENCE.
"It’s always a game of chess when you play old teammates," karrigan said in a post-match interview on the broadcast, "so it was more like 'throw out the playbook and think on-the-fly' and I think it worked wonders."
As far as his progress in FaZe and implementing a new playbook, karrigan said he "took everything they had and threw it out of the window. We started from scratch and implemented my style. It was very chaotic at IEM Katowice, but you can see a different FaZe now, we’re playing to the strength of our players."
The two teams will play their next round robin matches on Monday, with FaZe set to face another squad with a 1-1 record, Ninjas in Pyjamas, while MOUZ will clash with Vitality in a crucial series that they will have to win in order to keep their playoff options alive.

MOUZ got off to a flying start on Mirage, FaZe’s map pick, with a five round streak, but were immediately met by a fierce attack from FaZe, who tied things up linking five rounds in a row of their own. Ultimately it was dexter and company who took the lead at the half by one round and the back-and-forth continued after switching sides, although FaZe managed to come out ahead on the defense, 16-13, despite a monster performance by David "frozen" Čerňanský, who ended the map with 32 frags.
The close match between the two sides continued on Inferno, where Helvijs "broky" Saukants went off on the defense with both rifles and the AWP, racking up 19 kills in FaZe’s 9-6 halftime lead on the CT side. The FaZe youngster continued to tear through his opponents on the attack as he finished one frag shy of 30 while FaZe gained control of proceedings to cruise to a 16-10 victory.
