MIBR defeat TeamOne in close affair to secure first win in EPL

TeamOne have their backs against the wall after they lost both domestic matchups in the first two days of action in Group C.

MIBR have secured their first win in ESL Pro League's Group C after coming out on top of the second Brazilian derby of the group against TeamOne in close fashion (2-1; Mirage 16-6, Train 14-16, Overpass 16-13) in the first encounter between the two sides in over a year. Gustavo "⁠yel⁠" Knittel's team have another domestic matchup ahead of them, as they will face FURIA next on Sunday at 19:00 .

MIBR entered the series with a comfortable win on their pick, Mirage. yel's squad were slow to start on the offense but still got away with a great first half after stringing eight rounds together for a 10-5 lead, and they secured the opener without breaking a sweat after switching sides.

Train proved a much bigger challenge for the favorites after they once again got off to a poor start, this time on the CT side. MIBR had to salvage the half after being down 0-6, but consistent openings from the AWPs in the hands of yel and Marcelo "⁠chelo⁠" Cespedes allowed them to switch over to the offense with a one-round lead.

The two sides went on to trade blows in the second half, until TeamOne seized control on the back of key plays from Pedro "⁠Maluk3⁠" Campos and Mario "⁠malbsMd⁠" Samayoa and forced the deciding map with just Deagles in hand in the last round of regulation.

It all came down to another back-and-forth affair on Overpass, which saw TeamOne pick up a close lead on the T side despite great effort from Bruno "⁠shz⁠" Martinelli, who led the way for MIBR with three big multikills in key rounds. In the second half, Maluk3's side managed to keep their opponents within reach but just fell short in the end after chelo proved too much to handle as he put up 20 kills in the second half to pull his team over the finish line.
