Heroic breeze past Sprout in Flashpoint 3

The Danes didn’t break a sweat in their opening match and are through to the upper bracket quarter-finals.

HEROIC took out Sprout in two quick maps in their opening Flashpoint 3 series to secure their passage on to the next upper bracket round, where they will face the winner of FaZe vs. G2.

For Sprout, whose Josef "⁠faveN⁠" Baumann said that "the amount of experience we gain through playing against higher-ranked teams is already a win for us", the adventure will continue in the lower bracket, where they will meet the loser of the aforementioned match-up in a quest to survive to see another round of play.

HEROIC held no punches on Vertigo, Sprout’s map pick, which they started with a 8-0 lead on the CT side. The Germans then snuck in their only first round win in a pistol forcebuy, as faveN and Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter got two opening kills, but quickly fell back into a losing streak until the end of the half, when they put in three in a row to make it 4-11. Sprout then took the second pistol round, and although they lost to the second round forcebuy they were able to rebound quickly to keep gaining ground on HEROIC, but the Danes didn’t let it get out of hand and secured the map 16-7.

Sprout took a 3-0 lead on the CT side of Nuke, but Desert Eagle doubles by Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller and Rasmus "⁠sjuush⁠" Beck put HEROIC in the running early on as the Danes went on to chain nine rounds in a row on the offensive before giving up two of the last three rounds before switching sides. Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali took down three players with dual Berettas in the second pistol round, after which HEROIC dropped just two rounds on the way to victory, once again 16-7, to close out the series.
