BIG edge out Sprout, DBL Poney outlast Anonymo in overtime affairs at Flashpoint 3

Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz's squad will face off against Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro & co. in the next round of the lower bracket.

BIG and DBL PONEY have advanced in the Flashpoint 3 lower bracket following hard-fought victories over Sprout and Anonymo, respectively. Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter's side and the Poles have been eliminated from the Regional Major Ranking event, but they will still take part in decider bracket alongside FunPlus Phoenix and Complexity to determine their exact placing between ninth-twelfth place.

tabseN's team had their work cut out for them in the domestic matchup against Sprout, who entered the series on the wrong foot on their own Train pick but warmed up to the competition to give their local rivals a run for their money.

XANTARES locked Vertigo down with a massive T side performance

BIG went on to suffer an overtime loss on Dust2 despite amassing a 7-1 lead early on, with Josef "⁠faveN⁠" Baumann leading the way to the comeback for Sprout, and barely escaped Vertigo alive in another set of overtime after they gave up another substantial lead in the second half.

The action was no less tense in the second match of the day between Anonymo and DBL PONEY. The two teams each secured their own map picks, Vertigo and Inferno, before Nuke came down to an overtime showdown, where the Frenchmen prevailed.

BIG and DBL PONEY are set to clash in the next round of the lower bracket, which is scheduled for Tuesday following the Vitality-HEROIC affair on the opposite side. Before that, Monday will see the upper semi-finals take place between Astralis and MOUZ as well as G2 and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

I don't know what NIP has done in the past but I don't think they deserve so much hate cause they got a rematch. The rematch is unfair for anonymo but if they didn't get a rematch it would have been unfair for NIP. This isn't a regular tournament this is a major qualifier so problems like this shouldn't be happening in the first place. This is all flashpoint's fault.

We saw diffrent match. One bad decision at 15-14 throw them this match, also they made some small mistakes that led to round lose previously, but that is just presure.Over half of this squad play on tier 1 tournament first time

Nope, same game different perspectives. U clearly watched Anonymo and recognized their mistakes while i did the other way around. DBL did a lot of mistakes which led to 15 rounds for Anonymo as well. To base the whole game by 1 round (round 30) is just biased:)

deluded if u are looking at the match look at both teams not only on one :) this match was 50/50 with day disposition to settle the score :D btw. DBL Poney is a a mix, so its harder to prepare for them (almost 2;0 astralis, 2;0 vitality) chill out and stop hating anonymo on every thread in hltv, u are even worse than PL kids who are raising Anonymo high

It was close game, so hard to decide who is better. Ano was way better on Vertigo, DBL on Inferno. Nuke was close, and there were a lot of moments where match could go either way. Unlucky match and WP by Poney's

To replay a game with the same condition is the only fair thing. If anonymo were the better team they should’ve just won the rematch. Clearly they weren’t, hence they deserved the lower bracket. On top of that they got eliminated by a team like DBL which clearly shows that they would’ve just stolen a place in the upper bracket while playing a team with huge disadvantage. All is as it should be, period.

BIG is just playing like an FPL mix atm I feel like. But Sprout made so many stupid mistakes and lost the rounds that they pretty much already won that it was still enough to beat them. DBL PONEY looks great, for me they are a TOP 20 team atm. Anonymo showed a little bit of life, but DBL PONEY was much better.
