Renegades qualify for ESL Pro League Season 14
Joshua "INS" Potter and company dominated on three of the four maps played in their playoff victory against ORDER.
Renegades have secured a spot at ESL Pro League Season 14 just days after winning ESEA Premier Season 37 Australia. They did so by defeating ORDER, the winners of the previous ESEA Premier season, in a one-match best-of-five playoff. The well-deserved victory comes at a moment of high form for Renegades, who ended their ESEA Premier run with a 7-1 record in the group stage before crushing all opposition in the playoffs, including ORDER, without dropping a map in four matches.
Jordan "Hatz" Bajic ended up the highest-rated player in the playoff series, averaging a 1.42 rating and 93.1 ADR in the four maps played. He was closely followed by INS, who had a lower rating of 1.34, but a slightly higher ADR, 93.8. For ORDER, it was the 16-year-old Declan "Vexite" Portelli who showed huge potential, powering his team to victory on Vertigo and ending the series with a 1.16 rating and 87.8 ADR.

The final playoff match between the two ESEA Premier champions started off on ORDER’s first map pick, Dust2, but Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland and company weren’t able to get in the game early on and Renegades took an invaluable lead in the series by securing the map 16-6. Vexite then played an incredible Vertigo, finishing the map with 36 kills, as ORDER evened things up after a 16-13 victory.
From there on out Renegades dominated, taking ORDER’s second map pick, Mirage, with a strong defense to kick things off before sealing the deal on the T-side, 16-8. Simon "Sico" Williams and company then settled in on Inferno, easing to victory without giving ORDER a chance to hit double digits for the third and final time in the series, once again by a 16-8 scoreline.
Renegades, who played ESL Pro League Season 13 shortly after signing Alistair "aliStair" Johnston to take over the vacancy on the roster left by Christopher "dexter" Nong, will now have a shot at bettering the 17-20th place they achieved in ESL’s flagship league the last time around. Before that, the Australian squad will have a go at qualifying for IEM Cologne in the play-in tournament, where they are scheduled to face Vitality in their July 6 opening match.
