Complexity shut down G2 in EPL Group B

Complexity have entered into the conversation for a playoffs spot as they sit on a 2-1 record ahead of their last two matches.

Complexity have secured their second victory in Group C of Pro League Season 14 after defeating G2 2-1. This result sends G2 to the bottom of the leaderboard in the group, having now lost all three of their matches so far.

No team in Group C is locked in for the playoffs nor eliminated yet after three days of play. While it's not likely, OG could still be eliminated should they lose to both SINNERS and Complexity, and G2 could still advance if they beat both FORZE and Virtus.pro, assuming certain other criteria are also met. And while COL should be happy to have a positive record, they still have two of the hardest matches yet to come, and will want to win as many maps as they can to have the highest chance of advancing.

Complexity have a 2-1 record going into round four

Vertigo was the first map, surprisingly picked by Complexity, who sport a measly 25% winrate on it in the past three months. G2 held a strong lead for most of the first half, taking seven rounds in a row for a 7-3 scoreline. COL began to claw their way back at the turn of the half, eventually tying the score at 10-10. They weren't able to stop G2's offense in the end, though, and eventually lost the map 13-16.

It didn't look good for the Danish-majority side going into G2's pick of Mirage, but Complexity weren't finished just yet. After losing the first couple rounds, COL took a sizeable lead, powered by the entry kills of Valentin "poizon" Vasilev. The second half began extremely close between the two European rosters, with many back and forth rounds. However, Complexity slowly took a stronger lead, and despite the best efforts of G2 star Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, COL took the second map 16-12.

Complexity kept their momentum from Mirage going into the decider map of Dust 2. Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and co. put up an impassable defense and took 11 rounds out of the first 12, securing a large lead going into the second half. Once again it was poizon who stepped up for Complexity, while the MVP of Mirage, NiKo, completely disappeared. But just when all hope seemed to be lost, G2 started to come back. The rank-three team went on their own long streak, going 12-1 to eventually tie up the score. In the end it was for naught, however, as COL regained control and managed to grind out the final needed rounds to secure the final map 16-13.

Of this caliber? They do still have jackz and amanek on their team. And their tactical decisions are not that great for a tier1 team.

It was a very reasonable thing to say. Who would've guessed G2 would screw the pooch though. Besides 200 IQ HLTV autists who think they can beat every team in the top 30.

I really like how blameF looks on the first map vertigo even though they lost coz he tried to be aggressive by taking entry kills and he got lots of impact from it. Unfortunately he went back to his baitF's ways for the next two map but hey they won so what can I say ?

they are like cockroaches, i bet they win their remaining games and qualify anyway. But they should be instantly eliminated for losing 3 matches tbh, that would be the deserved outcome so they can learn the hard way and fix whatever they need to fix

Yeah "The Closer" is a great nickname for es3tag especially with how many 1v1/1v2 situations he won in this series.. I wanted him to stay with Astralis to replace Xyp9x but Bubzkji has definitely stepped it up since then and now they both seem to fit great in their respective roles IMO. And I'm glad for jks dropping 20+ bombs again I think there is a lot more room for improvement but at least he's not stuck still trying to carry his countrymen yet barely making it out of tier 2 competition lol

poizon shocked me in this game. Not that I didn't rate him, but hes damn near world class as a rifler. Sick entry fragging. G2 sadly are starting to look like any other NiKo influenced team :/ NiKo playing really good but very weak results & overall performance from the team. Same thing happened in mouz, FaZe after a while...is it the NiKo effect?

Man even with NaToSaphiX Complexity is still able to beat G2, like it's great for Complexity, but G2, how can you lose to a team that has been falling down for 6 months, are barely in TOP 20, just made roster change and now play with a stand-in instead of their best player, and add to that that this stand-in is an AWPer, and he plays rifle here, and took all the shit spots and basically is a BOT in those (can't blame NaTo for that ofc.), how? G2 looks lost in this tournament, they look like they have no idea of how do they want to approach the game as a team, everyone is making their own plays and teams like Complexity even won't let you win 16 rounds by individual plays, cmon G2 we know you can do better than that.
