forZe secure playoffs in EPL after sweeping G2

Damien "maLeK" Marcel's men were unable to earn their first win at the tournament against the in-form Russians.

Andrey "Jerry" Mekhryakov's squad continue their incredible journey at ESL Pro League Season 14. Their 2-0 Victory against the French-Balkan mix secured FORZE a ticket to the knockout stages of the tournament, continuing a great run that has seen the Russian squad lose only to OG. Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev shone across the series, consistently producing round-winning moments and ending the two maps with a 1.51 rating.

G2 had already been eliminated from playoffs contention after Complexity's victory against Virtus.pro earlier in the day; a disappointing showing from them after Nemanja "nexa" Isaković's team had been hailed amongst the favorites to lift the trophy.

Today's results mean that OG, Complexity, and FORZE have qualified for the playoffs, with tomorrow's games deciding the final placement of the top-three in Group B. Although FORZE can enter a three-way tie for first place on the last day of play, they can no longer clinch the top spot as they would lose the tiebreaking scenarios with OG and Complexity.

FL1T performed consistently well across the two maps

FORZE started their own map pick of Mirage on the offensive, quickly taking the A bombsite and securing the first round. The Russians' failure to convert the following anti-eco after running into G2's stack on the B site begun an awkward back and forth between the two teams. Stability returned shortly after, with nexa's men stringing a series of rounds together to make it 6-2. G2 was then able to take control of the game, closing the first half with a convincing 10-5.

The CT side of FORZE started with promise, taking the pistol round and converting the following five to retake the lead at 11-10. FL1T started to shine on the defensive half, with G2 often unable to deal with the Russian's effective use of the AUG. Despite a worrying series of rounds in which the French-Balkan side exploited a weakness on the B site, FORZE were ultimately able to close the map 16-14.

Nuke started with G2 winning the pistol round and taking the following two. After the first full buy FORZE were able to pick up the pace, masterfully taking control of both bombsites on their offense to take an 8-3 lead. A successful eco round allowed the defense to marginally close the gap but it was not enough, with FORZE closing the half 10-5.

The Russians managed to win the first three rounds of their CT side, extending their lead 13-5. Unfortunately, G2's offense was unable to pick up momentum in the second half as every attempt to win successive rounds was stopped by Jerry and Almaz "almazer" Asadullin. FORZE were ultimately able to shut down G2 16-7, 2-0.

Rating make excuse like "Niko is carrying his team", even if it is a bottom of the sea. Praising niko's stats doesn't fit the lack of teamplay/ the poor call or the fact niko and hunter's together take the space for a star awper.

When you fall off a cliff the way they did, people are going to call it out. Going out of groups after winning one or two bo3s is still understandable. There is no excuse for this bad of a performance for the kind of money they're getting paid, the kind of lineup they have and the teams they went up against. They couldn't even put up a decent fight on some of the maps they played man 😑

#48 says truth, OG[4-0] followed by forZe[3-1], Complexity[3-1] ("NOT2-2") means if OG loses CoL they cant pass this group as 1st, indeed. so now i mean G2-Vp would be 30 round troll festival? XD I really interested. Even if forZe doesn't win to Sinners (Probably not happen?) CoL vs OG result directly decides OG's destiny . monkaS and Hype moment!

No, any of them can Tiebreakers go as follows on the ESL Pro Tour CSGO specific rules pdf: 1. Points earned 2. Map difference between tied competitors 3. Map wins between tied competitors 4. Overall map difference 5. Overall map wins 6. Round difference between tied competitors 7. Round wins between tied competitors 8. Overall round difference 9. Overall round wins If CoL win, there are 3 on 12 points. A 2-1 win gives them all a net 0 map difference as they would all be 3-3 against each other, which is also a map win tie. For overall map difference, they are all +5, and 9 maps total each. For round differential vs other ties, Forze are +6, OG +1 and CoL -7. So if CoL win 13 more rounds across the 3 maps, they go top. If less, Forze go top. If exactly 13 more, it goes to number of rounds won between CoL and Forze, as OG differential would be lower and they would be out of contention. Any OT is counted as 16-15 to the winning team so Forze are counted at 83 rounds won. CoL are currently 37, so if they get less than 14 rounds in the map they lose, Forze top the group. If it goes to OT, CoL top the group. If it is exactly 14, they go to all rounds differential. I don't have time to add up every game right now. I assumed Forze wins 2-0 tonight for the sake of this comparison. If they win 2-1, they are out of contention at the total map difference comparison. If CoL win 2-0, they get top based on map differential between competing team, they would be on +1 vs 0 for Forze and -1 for OG. If OG win, they get top by being undefeated. But yeah, all 3 teams are still alive for top spot.

VP has been on a decline for a while imo, they didnt surprise me much g2 tho, I think they have been figured out, people have caught up to the no awp t sides and other things, they were struggling with their t sides, on the few games where they had decent t sides, they flubbed the ct side either due to mistakes or again the opponents being ready for what they do, the only saving grace were their individuals, but that too didnt last them long

nice analysis, I'm totally with you. Claiming spots on T site looks so poor right now. It will be the next step they'll take I think. Get in an AWPer that IS an actual AWPer fulltime, not a solution out of nowhere. I don't know if it would be Amanek to be benched then, but most likely its him. Nontheless they have to make a rosterchange, I think Malek and Nexa will go into deep analysis and come up with what you stated.

I thought VP was just "inconsistent" before, but clearly I was wrong. I really had a lot of faith in them too. Back to the drawing board for both VP and G2 I guess. Really - what a shame that these two teams did poorly at ESL Pro League Season 14. What do you think both teams will do - change their roster or try to figure it out and give it some more time before removing anyone?

Forget the group, G2 will be seriously eyeing the ESL Pro League trophy; they are in great form and the balance of roles and chemistry in the team looks excellent. They had just better hope that they have figured out a way to beat Natus Vincere, or that someone else takes care of the CIS superstars for them.
