fnatic end Romanian dream

fnatic have put a stop to The Elder Gods' winning run with a 2-0 victory in the Round of 16.

The Swedish giants have moved to the quarter-finals of WCG 2009 but that did not come without a scare after finding themselves down by several rounds in the first map.

The Elder Gods started out the match in convincing fashion on de_nuke, picking several rounds in a row as CT as they went into interval up 11-4. The Swedish side then got back into the game in the second half, before TeG set the score at 15-14.

With the match point at hand, the Romanians collapsed to the pressure and allowed fnatic to force the game into overtime, where they were simply too hot as they posted a 19-16 success.

Now on de_train, TeG picked up five rounds as Terrorist, which left everything open for the second period, but fnatic's strong offensive side proved far too good for the Romanians as they won the map 16-5.

fnatic have now progressed to the quarter-final stage, where they will take on the winner of the match between Turmoil and Millenium.
