AGAiN survive Power scare

AGAiN are off to the semi-finals of the 2009 World Cyber Games following a nail-bitting 2-1 win over Power Gaming.

AGAiN were forced to work hard to fabricate a quarter-final win as Power Gaming made sure to give the Polish giants a run for their money.

On de_dust2, the former Vitriolic team demonstrated a very solid CT play as they went into the second half 9-6 in their favour. It was expected that things would be easier for them as Terrorist, but Power Gaming kept piling the pressure, which made AGAiN register just a 16-13 win.

The second map, de_train, began with Power Gaming not too good in defensive affairs, with the Finnish side managing just eight rounds as CT, but their strong offensive moves broke down the Polish defense in the second half, giving them a 16-14 result.

The last map, de_inferno, was a complete nightmare for AGAiN as CT as they were down by 7 rounds at half time, which made even the most avid of fans doubt about the team's chances. But the Polish side pulled off a great second-half show, with Jakub "kuben" Gurczynski picking up over 30 frags, to see off Power Gaming 16-14 and seal a 2-1 win.

great game by PowerGaming, I'm impressed, although the golden boys could have won earlier but made some mistakes in important rounds. But a great comeback on inferno on T side from them, GG!!

It's always the same that when 2 good teams are playing there will be rounds that the other team should have won but didn't. For example, AGAiN won an eco round on d2 AND on train. On train as well PG should have had at least 10 rounds as ct but they really screwed those last rounds up themselves, of course Neo played great at the end there but ruuit should have killed some of them when PG had the manadvantage and again was coming inner.

Of course those players have always had the potential to do well but if they go to the army there's not much left in the Finnish scene. I find it interesting to see if PG qualifies to Extreme Masters Finals what will happen if 4 of them go to the army. Will natu create a new team or just stop as well

Dont be too hasty on that, I think munkka has great potential. They play very much like PG does and all they need is to stick together (not often do you see that in .fi scene) and gain expo.

That's a point worth noticing. PG don't play often and they hardly ever practise. That's the peculiar finnish style, very impatience playing and quite cocky even. But anyway very very nice to see ppl from around the world salute to finnish cs, it's been a long time :D And even more nice to see such oldchool superstars as natu and tihOp show that THERE'S NO SCHOOL LIKE THE OLDSCHOOL and their the fucking headmasters! :D
