BIG qualify for BLAST Fall Final over G2

BIG stood tall on Dust2 and came back on Inferno to win 2-0 and send G2 into the BLAST Showdown.

The German squad have managed to beat G2 and lock in their place in the BLAST Fall Final alongside Ninjas in Pyjamas from Group B. Newest addition Nicklas "⁠gade⁠" Gade led the scoreboard for BIG throughout the series after his team won their pick of Dust2 and made a recovery on Inferno from being behind 5-10 at half-time.

Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz and company move on to face Ninjas in Pyjamas once more in the group in order to decide the winner of Group B, while G2 will now have to play in the BLAST Showdown if they want to qualify for the Fall Final.

In a post-match interview, gade spoke about the recent growth of the squad and being able to find his feet in the server. "It was good we were destroyed by Ninjas in Pyjamas and FaZe, because we really learnt a lot from those matches," gade said.

gade exceeded expectations against G2

On Dust2, BIG took early control of CT half, managing to stay ahead of G2 after losing the pistol with a 9-6 half, as gade made the difference for the German team with an 18 kill half and giving the squad room to make mistakes going into their T side. Despite G2 winning some early rounds in the second half, gade and Tizian "⁠tiziaN⁠" Feldbusch were too much to overcome as BIG closed out their map pick 16-12.

Inferno started off well for Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač and his team as they managed to put 10 rounds on the board on their T side and at one point led 10-3. BIG had their work cut out for them but quickly tied the match at 10-10, and even though G2 once again put the pressure on as they pulled ahead to match point BIG were relentless on the T side, slowly making the comeback.

Despite the best efforts of NiKo, BIG took Inferno into overtime where they hoped to squeeze out the win. Although G2 finished Inferno with 26 opening kills compared to the 10 of BIG, the German team closed out Inferno 19-17 and secured the 2-0 series victory.

NIKO needs a new team. G2 has an extreme amount of money and can afford a decent team. They need to rebuild a team around NIKO so that they can win.

Its same ol' story the hole Niko's carrier, he joins a good team and they don't really get much better, even get worse after the honeymoon is over. Also Faze didn't get worse after Niko got replaced by Karrigan, losing a whole lot of firepower. People start making assumptions.

Faze is unique though because they removed two players very close to each other. I think faze removing cold had a bigger effect on the team.

Welp, this G2 squad has peaked and changes are imminent. I would say that getting a main awp should be first on their list but Nexa as IGL doesn't seem to be working out either anymore. It's gonna remain like this till Major but I hope that after that at least they get Smooya or some other decent awper while change their coach or maybe the IGL. Happy for Tabsen

Going on that, the rumour of -jackz +maka makes perfect sense, as jackz would then go to LDLC. Personally I'd rather give nivera a chance, but his buyout is probably gigantic. But I can't really say when and if chances will happen, as everyone in the G2 camp probably knows that if you lose jackz, you also lose some of hunters form.
