Vitality and OG edge out victories; Dignitas take first win against MAD Lions

Vitality and OG go 2-0 while Dignitas secured their first win in Sweden.

ENCE was at the centre of another brawl, as their game against OG extended all the way to a fourth set of overtime before it saw Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen's men being crowned victors.

Vitality had a close game of their own after surviving a Sprout comeback which brought the game to round number 30 on the main stream.

Dignitas had the most comfortable night so far, shaking off yesterday's close loss against ENCE and taking their first win at IEM Fall Europe by defeating MAD Lions in what was the shortest match of Group C today.

Vitality got off to a great start on Vertigo, converting a force buy on the second round before cementing their superiority on the T side with a 10-5 lead at halftime. Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut showed his quality on the offense, pulling a 1v3 ace clutch and ending the half at the top of the scoreboard with an 18-9 K-D.

Sprout responded with a great T side of their own, stringing together seven rounds in a row on their way to a 13-11 lead, posing themselves to take the map. A triple kill on mid from Kévin "⁠misutaaa⁠" Rabier saved Vitality from certain defeat, giving them the opportunity to edge the map 16-14.

ENCE earned their first round on Mirage following a great retake on the A bombsite, after which they were able to take a 5-0 lead. Despite a short resurgence from Aleksib's team, ENCE cruised through their CT side, ending the first half ahead 10-5.

The second half saw OG come back into the game, winning the pistol and consistently keeping ENCE's economy in check to make it 9-10. Both teams exchanged rounds with no one able to run away with the game, and Aleksib secured overtime with a triple kill in connector.

The first set of overtime saw neither team being able to take consecutive rounds. On the second and third sets of OT both squads swept through their CT sides, shutting down the opposition's offense. OG broke the stalemate with a great T side on the fourth set of overtime, closing the game with two consecutive rounds on CT to close the map 28-25.

Dignitas faced off against MAD Lions on Inferno. The European mix found their first pistol round before Dignitas responded with a successful force buy which allowed them to start a six-round streak, putting them ahead 9-6 at the end of their T side.

The Swedish squad were quick to prevent any comeback attepmts from MAD Lions by winning the CT pistol and the following three rounds, cruising to a 16-9 victory.
