IEM Fall Group A: Copenhagen Flames lead after upsetting G2, BIG post first victory

Copenhagen Flames have continued an impressive run at IEM Fall, with a win over G2 putting them on top of Group A at 3-0.

The third round of matches of Group A at IEM Fall has concluded. BIG escaped a tough situation with their first victory over FunPlus Phoenix, with whom they are now tied for fourth place at a 1-2 record, while MOUZ secured their second win in the round robin.

As one of the surprises coming from the closed qualifier, AURA have lost their third consecutive match after conceding Mirage to the Christopher "dexter" Nong-led side, with the young Swedish side now finding themselves outside of playoffs contention with a 0-3 record.

At the end of round three, Copenhagen Flames stand undefeated

The limelight was however on the match between the two leaders of the group, G2 and Copenhagen Flames, who engaged in a back-and-forth match on Nuke to see who would remain undefeated going into round four.

The close affair saw the French-Balkan favorites get off to a great start on the offense, but it was far from over, as Copenhagen Flames brought back the first half to a one-round deficit and went on a dominant run to kick off the second. G2 had their backs against the wall at 8-14 and climbed back with a solid defense, but it was all for naught, with the Danish underdogs clinching the victory in overtime.

Although Copenhagen Flames have not yet guaranteed themselves a place in the playoffs, they have certainly made a big step towards a finish in the points in their only Regional Major Ranking event appearance this year. The remaining two matches will see Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and company face MOUZ and BIG, two more affairs where they will be seen as clear underdogs.

No, mouse or g2 will get 12 points and fpx wont get in the tie-breaker. But i think Flames will end in a tie-breaker for 2nd or 3rd spot

I will say it once again, this CPH Flames team won't be a TOP 10 team, not even stable TOP 15, but some of those players can absolutely reach the top one day, it's some insane talent in this roster really. Next gen. of Danish CS. I love G2 but they are just trash atm., it's basically NiKo vs the world, sometimes huNter- steps up but rarely, other than that this team is nothing atm. They are like BIG, but they have NiKo & huNter- to carry them through some games, other than that I really don't see the difference, maybe BIGs structure is a bit better, that's it.

I like my life. And honestly I have a lot of nice discussions with some of the users here, and overall I believe that HLTV is made for talking and exchanging opinions. That's how forums work :)
