Heroic qualify for BLAST Fall Final

With this victory over OG, HEROIC secure a spot at the Royal Arena, where they get the chance to play in front of a home crowd.

HEROIC secured a 2-0 victory over OG to grab a BLAST Premier Fall Final berth, winning 16-12 on Inferno and 16-11 on Overpass. The first map was a tight battle that went HEROIC's way, whereas Overpass was always firmly in the control of the Danes.

Looking forward to late November's BLAST Fall Final in the winners interview, Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali was asked about the inexperience of many of the team when it comes to LAN play, and he had some strong words about their expectations:

"There is one thing that is for sure, we are there to win. We are not showing up just to play, or to try the LAN thing for the first time, we are there to get the job done and get the results we really want."

Inferno was the first map of the series, with OG starting on the T side. The first half began with HEROIC taking control, grabbing the pistol and getting to 4-0, before OG started to get into the game with some aggressive, fast paced rounds. The half started to swing in the favour of the boys in blue, HEROIC struggling to deal with the high tempo, but they managed to squeeze enough out of their defence to get to an 8-7 half win.

The second half started with OG taking full control, taking five of the first six rounds to bring them to a 12-9 score. With their economy struggling HEROIC managed to win a force buy that turned the half around for them, as it put OG in a tough economic spot themselves.

HEROIC did not let go of the advantage, running up the next seven rounds in a row, including a vital 3v5 at 14-12, to take the map 16-12.

Next up was HEROIC's pick of Overpass. The Danes kicked things off on the T side, and they struggled to get going as OG won five of the first six rounds.

With some adjustments, particularly focusing on finding opening kills towards A, HEROIC came back into the half in style, winning the next seven on the bounce to give themselves the half win, before OG grabbed the final round to make it 7-8.

It was at this point that OG began to struggle as they moved onto the offensive side; they did not manage any consecutive round wins and as such never got a solid economic base to build from, and HEROIC found dominant rounds whereas the wins for OG were close fought affairs. It was a back and forth half, without OG ever looking threatening, and it finished 16-11 in the Danes favour.
