TYLOO and Renegades avoid going 0-2 in Challengers Stage

The two Asia-Pacific squads move into the 1-1 matches tomorrow as Brazilian teams suffer more defeats.

TYLOO and Renegades have avoided going 0-2 in the Challengers Stage as both squads faced Brazilian sides in their second matches of the event — and won. Renegades struggled in the early rounds on Nuke, just like against Movistar Riders, but kicked things into gear to pull the map back in their favour against paiN. TYLOO managed to come out on top against Sharks in a messy map of Mirage.

For the second time in the tournament, Renegades found themselves on Nuke and were incredibly slow to put rounds on the board. Despite paiN leading the Australian side 9-2, the Aussies clawed back some rounds to secure a 6-9 half.

Liam "⁠malta⁠" Schembri, Jordan "⁠Hatz⁠" Bajic and Alistair "⁠aliStair⁠" Johnston took turns with making individual plays that secured them rounds as the Brazilian side was unable to match the firepower of the Aussies. Despite being pushed the distance, Renegades were able to secure their first win at the event and move into the 1-1 matches to be played tomorrow.

TYLOO and Sharks went head-to-head on Mirage as both teams hoped to avoid going 0-2 in a match that had decided the destiny of fan Pick'ems across the globe. The game was messy as both teams were bailed out by individual performances on route to their first win in Stockholm.

Following a half split 7-8, the money and momentum constantly shifted between the two teams but TYLOO eventually came out on top. YuanZhang "⁠Attacker⁠" Sheng stood out in TYLOO's victory, falling two kills short of 30 at the end of the match. Sharks will join paiN in the 0-2 matches as the Chinese side will progress into the 1-1 games.

All three Brazilian sides in the Challenger Stage now join Astralis as 0-2 sides and the remaining teams in the Round 2 matches continue to fight for the Legends Stage.
