karrigan powers FaZe to win over ENCE; CPH Flames stop BIG comeback

FaZe and Copenhagen Flames are the first teams to go 2-0 at the Stockholm Major.

FaZe proved to be the superior European team on the day after taking down ENCE 16-12 on Dust2 and moving to the 2-0 pool of the Challenger Stage. Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's men put up a good fight but were unable to close out the map despite creating leads on both halves, moving to a 1-1 record in the group.

Copenhagen Flames instead continued in their surprise run on the first day of the Stockholm Major by completing a second upset, this time against BIG. An extremely dominant CT side allowed the Danes to take Nuke 16-11 despite a shaky offensive half.

FaZe started on the back foot on Dust2 as ENCE created an early 3-0 lead powered by the heroics of Lotan "⁠Spinx⁠" Giladi on the CT side. Once Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's squad got hold of the rifles and Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard found his rhythm, momentum swang the way of FaZe as they won eight of the remaining twelve rounds to edge the half 8-7.

The second half proved equally as entertaining with ENCE temporarily taking back the lead on the T side. Facing a 10-12 deficit, karrigan adapted and began calling a more aggressive CT side which tipped the balance in favor of FaZe as they strung together six consecutive rounds to secure Dust2 16-12.

Copenhagen Flames meanwhile dismantled BIG's T side on Nuke with the Danes conceding only two rounds during their defense. Fredrik "⁠roeJ⁠" Jørgensen dropped 23 kills on his way to secure a 13-2 half for his team.

The German squad came back into the second half with something to prove. BIG took the second pistol round, kickstarting an eight-round winning streak and slowly building a comeback before it all came crashing down as Copenhagen Flames was able to stop the bleeding and close the game 16-11.
