MOUZ send BIG home and secure Legends Stage spot

There is one last Legends Stage team to be decided today.

MOUZ have qualified for the next stage of the PGL Stockholm Major after taking down BIG 2-1 in an exciting series. This was the last chance for both teams coming from the 2-2 pool to qualify for the next stage with MOUZ counting victories over Sharks and Renegades.

Analysts had given the edge to BIG before the series started and an early 16-10 victory on Dust2 seemed to confirm predictions, but two great maps from Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand on Inferno and Nuke turned the balance in favor of the international squad.

MOUZ kickstarted their elimination match against BIG positively by converting a second-round force buy thanks to some exceptional Deagle shots from Aurimas "⁠Bymas⁠" Pipiras, opening the doors to a 6-1 advantage. Despite the deficit, the Germans settled their T side and chipped away at the MOUZ lead, trailing 6-9 at halftime. BIG brought over their building equipment to the CT side, erecting a brick wall on Dust2 and denying all but one round to the offense on their way to a 16-10 victory.

Once again the Germans found themselves on the back foot on Inferno, staring at a 1-9 MOUZ lead with an in-from acoR winning rounds by himself. BIG began a series of perfect bombsite stacks that completely shut down MOUZ's aggression to recover the half 6-9 but this time Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz's boys were unable to complete the comeback due to Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool and David "⁠frozen⁠" Čerňanský stealing the show in the second half. MOUZ eventually took the map 16-12.

The first half of Nuke saw no team able to string together significant winning streaks. frozen and Bymas really turned up to play on the CT side, giving MOUZ the early momentum but an incredible round 15 from Florian "⁠syrsoN⁠" Rische was crucial in limiting the Germans' halftime deficit to 7-8. BIG played a truly shaky CT side, unable to adapt to the T aggression, especially as acoR began finding decisive impact on the offense before a quick rush down ramp secured Nuke 16-12 for the international mix and with it, the series 2-1.

Big so Bad its insane. They literally can only Play d2 and nothing Else. Always Starring Games being down at least 5-7 rounds, no Teamplay whatsoever. Something is just not working for them. They really need a heavy hitter, someone they can rely on taking multifrags more often. This team as it is right now is not the team we saw Last year. A miracle they actually made it to the major.

they have 3 guys that don't put up numbers that's the problem, you need at least 3 heavy hitters to be anywhere in cs these days. Only tabseN and syrsoN is not enough. kick k1to, get faveN, and if that's still not enough they just have to go international again because there are not enough good German speaking players.

don't think MOUZ is keen on giving away their youngsters. The team has always been big on bringing up young guys so I think it's more likely we will see guys like JDC and Torzsi in mouz in some time if MOUZ keep underperforming.

i agree, just saying that there is talent. big academy isnt the worst aswell, could be a good player aswell, fnatic rising had 1 aswell last season. problem is that there is a lack of IGL in csgo for a long time after the likes of gob retired. tabsen could be a superstar but he has to igl aswell, says it all.

-k1to incoming. Long overdue, too. The guy is the most inconsistent CS player of all time. He can put up a 1.8 rating on the first map in a series but still go under a 1.0 rating when the series ends. If BIG don’t kick him or gade, they will keep losing like this until they do.

I think BIG just doesn't work at all as a unit. k1to could be solid toptier if he had a clear role that played to his strenghts. They need a BIGger change than just bench one. Their strats on every map have major black holes, they teamflash constantly, they miss timings etc.

That’s all on LEGIJA, who was thrown into the coaching role after DuDe stepped down. They really can only play D2 at this point, which I’m surprised MOUZ floated it today against them, but when you look at the players on the team, the only two players above a 1.0 rating are Tabsen and Syrson. They need one other player who can put up numbers consistently, on top of burning most their playbook and starting fresh.

BIG lost several very important rounds to just completely botching their executes. Also, the absolutely apeshit flux in performance almost by every player. Each one can go huge and then immediately suck major donkey the next game. Telltale signs that something needs to change, prolly more towards a BIG change or they might delay the inevitable by changing one player.

When you’re the IGL and put yourself in all the high frag positions, this is usually the result. Not saying he can’t play those roles but he should worry about making his team play better instead of getting frags.

Dexter is the IGL and occasional support, and he’s a really good fragger for his position, his main goal is to make the rest of the roster look good. Just look at how Bymas has been playing under him, a completely different player.

They do have a lot of talent. Bymas under dexter is playing a lot better than he ever has, but I don’t agree with dexter being a baiter when he dies more than anyone on the team. As i mentioned here, his main job is to make everyone else around him look as good as possible, which is why he usually bottom frags. Regardless, the reason they won flashpoint was because everyone was playing really well. If acor can play like this for the rest of the major, they could make semis.

BIG need to get rid of everyone except Tabsen and Syrson. Maybe keep Tiz around for sentimentality. Possibly even get a new coach (I attribute their inability to play any map except D2 to bad coaching (?)). Tizian is a very underrated support player. His goal isn’t getting frags, it’s setting up his teammates to get frags. His performance is dependent on how many kills everyone else gets, because he’s usually setting up flashes, being bait, and taking all the roles no one else wants.

You're right. I'm also having a hard time deciding whether I would like to see him go or not. The others NEED to go though. I don't know much about Gade and he seemed to step up a bit vs mouz, but he still looked to weak to expect anything at a major. And as much as I like kito, he's just not good enough imo. He has 1 or 2 rounds where he explodes and gets a 3k or 4k, then he's bad for the remainder of the game.

I guess they will start to steamroll soon again, they needed this upsets. if they start to look more like their ct side on D2 and finally start to become consistent, then I can start to enjoy watching and cheering for them again!
