Complexity part ways with blameF*

The Danish in-game leader was the last remaining member of Complexity's original 'Juggernaut' roster.

Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer is no longer a part of Complexity, the Dallas-based organization announced in a surprising move on Friday. The 24-year-old also revealed that he is now a free agent, making himself available to teams ahead of a shuffle period that is sure to follow after PGL Major Stockholm.

blameF has plied his trade for Complexity since September 2019, initially joining as a part of a North American mixture that included Hunter "⁠SicK⁠" Mims and Shahzeb "⁠ShahZaM⁠" Khan. However, the roster failed to deliver on results, and changes swiftly followed as the team morphed into a European lineup, with only William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba and Owen "⁠oBo⁠" Schlatter remaining from their original roster.

The additions of Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke and Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev that followed had an immediate impact, with Complexity impressing in their 2020 LAN debut at BLAST Premier Spring Series. Since then though, Complexity have been unable to deliver on the expectations promised by the names on their roster, and were a victim of the online era as notable results were few and far between in the last 18 months.

The loss of oBo was followed by further turmoil in the roster as both poizon and k0nfig recovered from surgeries at separate points, and recently, a death blow was seemingly dealt after the team failed to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm, exiting the IEM Fall Europe RMR in 17-20th place.

blameF's sudden departure comes as a shock as the Danish tactician was the primary building block of Complexity's original roster, being the sole piece remaining from Jason Lake's 'Juggernaut' after the team bid farewell to RUSH, poizon, and k0nfig in recent months. With Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David also on a temporary contract until the end of the year, further questions now arise as to the organization's plans heading into 2022.

UPDATE: Responding to a fan who asked why he left Complexity, blameF revealed in a live stream that he was kicked. Toward the end of the stream, he clarified the kick was by the organization as they "chose to part ways" with him.

Dude what... k0nfig was a fucking beast everyone would sign that guy if they had a Danish/international roster with a spot for a rifler. Golden is an absolute bot in the server, it literally does not get any worse, he is on LEGIJA and MSL leven of shitty aim. And his strats were never that good to start with, how you can compare him to k0nfig or an established support player like RUSH who had been in tier1 cs since 2017 OpTic and already had a Major win under his belt I will never know. Astralis are stuck with Lucky because other top Danish awpers were already part of other projects and Lucky was good in the tier he played G2 are braindead and have only themselve to blame for not getting an awper and thinking Amanek and NiKo can do it, that team has screwed up roles. Mouz got an Acor who was carrying the shit out of Tricked/Mad Lions along with Bubzkji and got scammed, they already have an academy player to replace him after Major soon. These teams either had restrictions, have made bad decisions or simply are waiting for that time. Many good awpers were available previously like Smooya and many good awp are still available like Nawwk or Allu for his experience. Not to mention the CIS guys.

That would be a good move considering the org can afford better players than a raw talented kid learning t1 cs, choking awper and a support player trying to be a star player. Problem with COL now its a show run by the brazilians so if aleksib refused 1 million dollars in 2019 (when it made sense to actually TAKE the offer more than join a comfort team with fairytale mentality) no fucking way will he even consider joining with the condition the team is in now. Only upgrade for aleksib would be a team like G2 but afaik the Kovac brothers (especially NiKo) don't really rate tactically capable IGLs so he is stuck with OG until he goes back to HAVU or something like that.

blameF had insane players to work with and still did jackshit because he kept willing to play to his own strengths and only his own strenghts. It's sad to see jks turned to shit while he was always a freaking monster. k0nfig left for a team that was falling apart (Astralis) and RUSH saying that blameF was pretty much building stuff around him... it's quite telling he isn't a great IGL. That's how NiKo used to call and see how it ruined his teams. Not a single top team has an IGL calling around himself. It's pretty telling.

Ever since he left all the injuries and roster bullshit that kept happening really derails you as an IGL. When they had oBo I remember an itw saying that they were pretty much doing anti strats because they had no time to practice and set up a system. Once they had time to settles things up, it ended up being all around blameF while he had k0nfig, RUSH (who is pretty selfless), poizon who is pretty aggressive and jks/oBo. blameF has an insane aim it's beyond me how he wasn't in the attacking duo/trio with k0nfig & RUSH. jks is 10 times better at this role and blameF aim & gamesense would be so much better in leading from the front. But if couldn't see this with coaches around him, I guess he should stop trying to be an IGL.

There are tons of talented players available, especially so for an org like col who's also willing to pick up CIS players. I just don't consider cold to be a hot prospect in any sense, especially considering that the team already has a better lurker in jks (and he hasn't been that incredible lately either). If you really wanted to keep him as the entry fragger, then go ahead, but I feel as if jkaem could do a better job, especially alongside a player he knows well such as jks. Regardless, col is going through a sizeable restructuring right now, so I wouldn't be shocked if cold either leaves after his short contract ends or he get booted early to make way for a potentially hungrier set of players. It's all up in the air, though!

Okay I know best solutions: OG: -niko +BlameF Move Valde to more of a support role and let BlameF lurk/bait. Might sound like a meme but I think this benefits both him and the team, here he doesn't need to IGL and can still feed info to Aleksi to make the calls, you can meme him all you want for baiting but he still gets the kills and has impact. Ofc with JKS and Cold who also wanna bait and be last alive it was never going to work but with Flamez entry, Aleksi playing aggressive, and Valde as a support it frees up Blame to bait and be the closer. With niko OG will never be a legit competitor against tier 1 teams like Na'Vi, Vitality, Gambit, etc. Valde still has skill, but you can see a drop from when he was popping off. He's not the same player he once was. I think OG would benefit from Blame's firepower, Flamez, Mantuu, BlameF gives you three powerful weapons and Valde and Aleksi are still really solid aimers for support/IGL. FPX: -emi +BlameF Not sure how this would work out honestly, but this team is desperate for firepower and Emi just isn't the solution. He was picked up because they couldn't get ChrisJ and they we're desperate. If BlameF still wants to IGL then this is probably the best team he'll get that opportunity with. Maden can entry and Zehn and Styko are pretty malleable players which is what Blame needs. 3rd option is some new team, something like BlameF, Bubzkji, Dupreeh/Magisk (I'm assuming one of them will re-sign if not grab them both obviously if not you could get Jkaem), then you add an AWP.

FPX would be nice, maybe he can join a danish team and grind it out. Anyway, there's always a form of roster shuffle after majors, so it's a good time for him to find a new team.
