Gambit shut down ENCE; Liquid fall to Entropiq at PGL Major

Both CIS squads start the Legends Stage with convincing victories over their opponents.

Gambit made their presence known at the PGL Stockholm Major, defeating ENCE 16-7 on Overpass and earning a spot in the 1-0 pool. The CIS squad exhibited a tactically sound game, shutting down Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's squad with an excellent CT side.

Meanwhile, Liquid started their adventure in the Legends stage on the wrong foot. Entropiq carried along the momentum gained from the previous stage as they beat the North Americans on Vertigo 16-9, sending them to the 0-1 pool.

Lack1 was crucial in Entropiq's win against Team Liquid

Gambit controlled the pace on Overpass against ENCE despite an early advantage from the Europeans following a pistol round conversion. Vladislav "⁠nafany⁠" Gorshkov called a successful offense, giving his team a 9-6 halftime advantage before orchestrating a near-flawless CT side which completely shut down ENCE. The CIS squad comfortably closed Overpass 16-7 only dropping one round in the second half.

The first upset of the Legends Stage came from the secondary stream as Entropiq convincingly beat Liquid on Vertigo 16-9. A tough loss for the North Americans as the Russian squad consistently spoiled Liquid's T round with some great retakes. Viktor "⁠Lack1⁠" Boldyrev played a great game, finding 23 kills while helping his team win seven consecutive rounds to close the game.

Damn ENCE could had won Gambit but it seemed like they weren’t focused at all and lost so many winnable rounds on ct, which made their economy really bad for the whole game. Edit. Also I think that 2vs1 clutch what they lost at 5th round if I remember right, kinda turned the game around and they lost their confidence a little bit. But nonetheless Gambit played perfect cs and I am sure they will reach playoffs.

Ence pick overpass, a map they look puggy vs Gambit's one of strongest map.

Gambit looked really solid in this game, that's good to see from them. ENCE also played well, they defienietly have the potential, but they are not yet at a point in which they can be beating teams like Gambit. I'm kinda surprised by Liquid getting upsetted here tbh., I thought they look great coming into the Major, and I picked them in my Pick'Em to get TOP 8, I think they are still going to do it but I'm kinda surprised bt this score. Entropiq is a decent team, but they sometimes get ahead of themselves when they get a good lead or something, I think they need more discipline to get to TOP 10, just me feeling, But I picked them for my TOP 8 aswell, I feel like they will make playoffs here.
