Gambit eliminate eSuba from V4 after phenomenal Mirage comeback

Gambit have now qualified for the quarter-finals of the event.

eSuba have been eliminated from V4 Future Sports Festival after their 2-0 defeat against Gambit in the elimination match of Group A. Lukáš "⁠luko⁠" Hrabčík's squad came through the play-in stage unbeaten but are now set to return home after back-to-back losses to BIG and Gambit.

Meanwhile, Vladislav "⁠nafany⁠" Gorshkov's team lives to fight another day. The CIS squad recovered from their defeat against Fiend earlier today, securing a third-place finish in Group A which sets them up against the loser of Entropiq vs Enterprise in the quarterfinals.

sh1ro displayed a 63-27 K-D across two maps against eSuba

The opening game of the main event saw Gambit suffer a shock defeat to a Fiend team fielding Georgi "⁠SHiPZ⁠" Grigorov as a stand-in. 21-year old sniper Deyvid "⁠h4rn⁠" Benchev found his footing on LAN, shutting down Gambit with 23 kills over the course Fiend's 16-9 victory on Dust2.

Meanwhile, eSuba found themselves in the lower bracket of Group A after falling 10-16 against BIG. The German squad dominated on the offensive side Mirage with Nils "⁠k1to⁠" Gruhne tormenting the Czechs throughout the game. Dominik "⁠Blogg1s⁠" Janita was the only shining light in the eSuba camp, topping his team's scoreboard with a 1.35 rating.

The elimination match saw Gambit have a incredibly slow CT side on Mirage. eSuba's relentless aggression on the offense was too much for the CIS squad to handle as they only counted four rounds in the first half despite winning the opening pistol. The Czechs were, however, unable to see out the game as Gambit embarked on a ten-round winning streak on the T side before forcing overtime and taking Mirage 19-17.

Overpass was a completely different story. Gambit kickstarted the second map with a near-flawless offensive which combined with Dmitry "⁠sh1ro⁠" Sokolov's incredible form it was able to blow eSuba out of the water in a 13-2 half. Gambit remained unbeaten after switching to the CT side and quickly closed the game 16-2, taking the series 2-0.
